I have been alerted to negative, hateful and ill informed comments on social media whilst on annual leave.
There appears to be lots of conjecture and assumptions without the facts being brought to bear.
We do, and have acknowledged, that this has been a life changing and extremely harrowing experience for our customer, family and friends.
Conversations have taken place between ourselves and our customer during the last few months and regrettably the screen shot shown in the post does not convey the larger conversation.
It’s never a conversation to have over the phone or message in a tragic circumstance like this however we told our customer to ‘not worry’ about dresses and focus on her fiancé.
We have never once insisted the dresses be collected.
Four of the five dresses have been collected by a family member without any coercion from ourselves and we have been asked to sell the fifth dress, on their behalf, which we are doing.
No money has been demanded as all goods were paid for back in February.
Like any small business we have to have Terms and Conditions to protect our livelihood in an ever decreasing high street retail marketplace.
There is no need for the veiled threats to my staff/my premises/my family/myself and random hateful messages from people whom I do not know, nor do they know me as upon my return to work I will be making contact with the bereaved bride to resolve this.
We do understand how difficult this circumstance is.
Unfortunately when any wedding gets cancelled for whatever reason it’s very sad and heart breaking.
We are very sorry for her loss and will do everything in our power to compensate her.
