Derby Dance Festival of Performing Arts

We are so pleased to announce that DDF has been granted a Miss Dance of Great Britain Qualifying Heat for 2025!

The heat will take place on Saturday 22nd March 2025 at Allestree Woodlands School. Times to be confirmed. We will open our entries for this on Thursday 2nd January 2025.

We are delighted to be able to bring a heat back to Derby.

All information about DDF will be sent out in late October/November to all schools who attended last year and those that have expressed interest. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions.

💜The first ever Derby Dance Festival is complete🖤

Thank you again to our fantastic Adjudicator, Miss Donna Wilcox for all of your helpful comments and feedback and for being DDFs first Adjudicator.

Thank you to everyone that made DDF possible, we are so grateful and we really couldn’t have done it without you. And of course, thank you to all of the incredible talent of Derbyshire, without you there wouldn’t have been a competition. We have loved watching all of you.

Pictured below are our DDF 2024 Bursary Finalists. What a phenomenal Bursary that was! Well done to you all! Congratulations to Mae Paine who was awarded this years Bursary for her modern solo🏆

We are so pleased that everyone loved First Stage Events first festival and we can’t wait to do it all again next year! We will be in touch soon with the dates for DDF 2025🤩

We just wanted to inform everyone incase you weren’t aware, that it’s the Derby 10k on Sunday 24th March. The roads around the school will all be open but there are roads in the centre of derby that will be closed earlier on in the day. Check out which roads will be closed on the link below to plan your route⬇️

Thank you again to our adjudicator Miss Donna Wilcox for her super helpful feedback for all of our competitors this weekend.

We are overwhelmed with all of the positive feedback we’ve received. Hearing that the atmosphere is so friendly, supportive and relaxed and the organisation has been brilliant has made all of our hard work behind the scenes worth it. Thank you to all of our volunteers, competitors, spectators, sponsors and businesses, without you this weekend wouldn’t have been possible.

What a talented place Derbyshire is, we look forward to watching the rest of the performances in a couple of weeks. Thank you again to everyone for supporting First Stage Events newest venture.

🌟DDF day 1 is complete🌟

Thank you so much to our fabulous Adjudicator Miss Donna Wilcox, what a fantastic day we had today! We’ve had lots of positive feedback about the festival already, we’re so glad you’re all enjoying it and it’s running so smoothly. Let’s do it all again tomorrow!

Don’t forget to check out Bodies in Motion’s stall, they have some lovely leotards for sale as well as lots of other dance wear and accessories. We also have a preloved second hand dance costume sale rail that’s full of lots of different style costumes, definitely worth a look! The Belper Print Hut will also be printing DDF T-shirts again plus taking orders for hoodies.

Pauls Ices and Catering Services will be at DDF both weekends serving breakfast cobs, burgers, chips, jacket potatoes and hot drinks. They will be accepting cash and card payments and will arrive from 8:30am on Saturday morning.

You’ll find their van right outside the Atrium. There is lots of indoor seating in the Atrium and if the weather is nice there is also outdoor seating too☀️

We couldn’t start a festival without having Martin from The Belper Print Hut on board to print t-shirts and hoodies for our competitors! Martin will be in the atrium selling personalised DDF T-shirts and hoodies during the festival✨
