Whissonsett Village Hall Whissonsett Village Hall is used by the local community for clubs and activities and as a venue for parties,entertainment, fetes and visiting productions.

Whissonsett or Witcingkeseta as it was known in the Domesday Book means either the settlement of the Witcing tribe or a place of watery meadows. The village is in a valley on a tributary of the River Wensum with many wells and springs so 'watery meadows' describes it very well. Set in the heart of rural Norfolk, it is situated between the Market Towns of Fakenham and Dereham. Whissonsett is surrou

nded by farm land and orchards; the Village itself encircles a beautiful 14th century Church. It is an idyllic scene, but behind this seemingly timeless picture is the hard work carried out by generation after generation of ordinary Norfolk people to preserve and beautify the church and village they love. With a history dating from the Dark Ages and The Iceni Tribe (Eceni) to Modern times there is a lot more to the Village than first meets the eye.

We Did It, Whissonsett! £2,304.34 Raised!
Now that all our bills have been paid and we’ve done the sums, we’re thrilled to announce that this year’s Whissonsett Village Fete raised a grand total of £2,304.34! 🎉
We’ll be splitting this right down the middle, meaning Whissonsett Village Hall and Saint Mary’s Church will each receive £1,152.17 to support their ongoing work in our community.
Right then.......who wants to come help plan the next one ? We'd love more helpers 😀

We've been a little inactive on here for the last few weeks, simply getting over the months of preparations we had for the village fete. ☕️ Pop-Up Tea Room at Whissonsett Church 🍰
Come inside the church and you’ll find tables laden with a glorious selection of home-baked delights—all lovingly prepared by the legendary "Whissonsett Bakers" known far and wide for their signature showstoppers.
We’re also thrilled to be serving a most generous helping of cakes donated by Obrennans of Walsingham—a sweet gift indeed from this lovely local business.
Expect bunting flying, and sponge cakes so fluffy they might just float off your plate. Whether you're after a dainty fairy cake or a hearty wedge of Victoria sponge, you'll be spoilt for choice. Of course, no vintage tea room would be complete without a classic English cream tea:
Freshly baked scones, sweet jam, and cream... but the big question is:
