Vaughan's Kitchen includes:
- Cookery School set in an industrial kitchen in Devizes, Wiltshire, teaching adults, children and students in a wide ranging variety of courses that appeal to all ages and abilities. For students it may be preparation for university, gap year or living alone and for adults it may be for improving skills or learning new skills.
- Corporate events - we are familiar wit

h working with large and small organisations to help with promoting their businesses or helping with staff training. We cater for any event however big or small. From christenings, birthdays and funerals to weddings and anniversaries. Our food is different! We use our "naturally balanced approach" using local, seasonal and Fair Trade food - forget sausage rolls and quiche; we can do better than that!
- In the community & education. We have specialists on board who have worked in schools for many years - they are used to working with children from Reception through to sixth form and will tailor a package for your school, your needs and your budget.

Even when you feel something has gone well, it is always uplifting to get confirmation from the customers and last week we were delighted when we received these 'graffiti evaluations' at the end of two of the courses we were running, as part of Marlborough College Summer School. Both the groups spent the week perfecting their baking skills on Cooking Stars: Bake It courses. In the mornings, Young Adventurers (9 -12-year-olds) were busy creaming, beating, rolling and shaping, creating a wide range of sweet and savoury treats. In the afternoons Teenagers (13 - 17-year-olds) turned out a wide variety of beautiful bakes as well.

There was also a group of adults Perfecting their Patisserie skills and our staff were always delighted when they found some samples left to try out😋 As you can imagine, we went through a lot of butter, eggs, sugar and flour so Lovejoys Wholesale our local supplier of good quality ingredients, were a constant visitor to Vaughan's Cookery School site.

Here's an easy way to achieve your 5+ a day in one delicious meal. Chop up a selection of vegetables into even sized pieces and put in a baking tray. Drizzle lightly with oil and season with salt and pepper and your favourite spices. Preheat your oven to 180C and roast until done. A soft vegetable combination such as courgette, aubergine, tomatoes, peppers, red onion & whole cloves of garlic will be cooked in about 30 minutes. Root vegetables such as carrot, parsnip, beetroot, swede/turnip, onion, potato will take a bit longer, so allow 45 mins. Test with a fork to make sure they are done.

Roasting concentrates flavour so make plenty and then you've got some left overs to eat cold next day in your lunchbox or with salad. Sprinkle on some balsamic vinegar for extra zing.

Here we are at the beginning of what the British Nutrition Foundation has designated Healthy Eating Week, mourning the loss of Michael Mosley, health guru extraordinaire, to whom we would like to pay tribute. In the 25 years of our 'naturally balanced' journey we have seen a huge leap forward over recent years in public realisation that what we put into our bodies affects our general health and well-being. Michael has contributed enormously to that shift in awareness and has inspired and motivated many people to put in some time and effort into keeping our bodies fine-tuned and functioning efficiently. We mourn his loss, but give thanks for his legacy.

This day a year ago all the planning and dreams came to life for E&T ✨ We hosted a beautiful welcome meal in the Orangery for nearest & dearest with a touch of Italian inspiration. Then woke up to most glorious sunshine and our team was ready for breakfast followed by light lunch before the main event in the afternoon. With the bride’s family coming from Sichuan region, we made sure that the menu reflected both families coming together. We brought Asian inspired dishes & combined with classic English country garden bounty. Simply love the meaning of dim sum – “touch the heart” 🤍 Sunday’s breakfast was prepared for the guests staying at the venue and then everyone gathered for relaxed BBQ brunch before setting off with hearts filled of joy, love and unforgettable memories made. What a weekend this was meticulously planned by Amie Jackson, forever grateful for choosing us and allowing to bring our ideas to the table.
