What to wear?

Please bring and wear appropriate footwear - walking shoes for more support. With the rain we have had this past week some parts of the walk could be a wet and muddy.

Even though most the walk is on even paths!

With our walk taking place across Dartmoor just a few things to be mindful of, two big parts of the walk will be on open moorland where sheep, horses and cows will be grazing please keep dogs away and under control !

Also we are aware that some people are bringing horses which is fabulous! Please be careful with dogs and give space when required.

Little blast from the past and how the parish plod all started!

The parish plod first started with Landlord and Landlady Will and Nicky who use to every year work closely with Jeremiahs Journey. After they left the pub the parish plod sadly didn’t run for a few years until Mike took over the pub 6 years ago!
We started to come up with a plan and how to recreate the parish plod but with a twist of our own!

Myself Alisha took on the challenge of trying to find a way, we always knew the event would be well supported by the local community and it’s been great to see it grow over the years. Speaking with people at each event and those travelling from all over Plymouth and some from further afield who come and support the day and charity’s it’s great to see how much everyone enjoys it!

So how were we going to do this twist? we then decided that we would each year change up the charity and work with smaller more local charity’s, knowing that the money would help the people in our local area, our first year we lost two local residents who had lived in shaugh for a long time and both to the same cause so we felt this was the best charity to kick us off( brain tumour south west)
Since then we’ve supported all kinds of charity’s and help raised Thousands for them!
