A request from nurses on Ward L47, the children’s intensive care unit.
“Anyone any good at knitting or know anyone who is? We desperately need booties and mittens for our babes and kids on PICU to try and keep their hands and feet as warm as poss ❤️ 🧦
☺️We don’t have any patterns but generally anything that would suit from about 3-6 month size onwards would be so very loved! We cater for children from birth to 16, from 2kg to 100kg- so anything you’re able to drum up in any size is fantastic. ☺️
😌Our children are usually nursed undressed for close observation, so being able to add a pair of knitted mittens/booties and blankets is so well received by our mummies, daddies and careers, and more vitally helps try to warm chilly hands and feet. 😌
😊The postal address is Booties and Mittens, PICU L47, D Floor Clarendon Wing, Leeds General Infirmary, LS1 3EX. ❤️ please let us know where they’ve come from if you post 🤞😊”
