Did you know… WE NOW SERVE VEGAN! 🌱

We’ve now got 4 vegan options on our menu -

🌱 Our previously vegetarian tofu has taken a step away from eggs and now uses a vegan ‘buttermilk’ batter recipe & panko breadcrumbs! Top your tofu with either our always vegan Katsu curry sauce or teriyaki sauce.

🌱 Katsu curry butternut squash - Seasoned butternut squash disc in our vegan ‘buttermilk’ batter & panko breadcrumbs. Topped with Katsu curry sauce, cabbage, cucumber & spring onions.

🌱 Butternut Squash Croquettes - Seasoned butternut squash balls battered with our vegan ‘buttermilk’ recipe & panko breadcrumbs. Topped with tonkatsu sauce & vegan mayonnaise, cabbage & spring onion.

Both our bao & donburi bases are vegan recipes but please be aware if you’d like fries we will have to cook these in our small vegan fryer and they will take longer than usual.

2025 let’s go! 🎉
We’re back on the road next week- just the three venues as we check our new set up is working as we’d like!

Monday 17th Feb - Gilberdyke War Memorial Hall 5-7:30! Preorders welcome for Gilberdyke- just send us a message with your order and collection time and we’ll sort the rest!

Wednesday 19th Feb - Walkeringham Village Hall 5-8! The village hall bar will be open with lots of seating inside, walk ups only please at this venue.

Friday 21st Feb - Beer Haus Cafe Bar 5-8! Grab yourself a beer (or 3!) from their extensive range and take a seat inside or in the covered beer garden. Preorders welcome.

NEW MENU FOR 2025! 🇯🇵 🇰🇷 🇨🇳 🇹🇭

All the usual favourites and some tasty new additions!

🌟-Our Sweet chilli panko prawn 'toast' has become a permanent fixture after a successful trial as a special!

🌟-We have altered our tofu batter recipe to a vegan recipe meaning we now have 3 vegan options! It's still gloriously crispy!

🌟-NEW! Butternut squash patties and croquettes - Don't like tofu? Don't worry! Dipped in our new vegan 'buttermilk' style batter and covered in panko breadcrumbs its a delicious alternative to tofu or meat!

🌟-NEW! Fried onigiri - chicken, prawn and pickled cabbage sushi rice balls, coated in crispy panko breadcrumbs and drizzled with okonomiyaki sauce* and mayo.
*contains Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, oyster and sugar.

🌟-Yakitori chicken skewers - another special that's taking a permanent place on our menu - chicken thigh glazed with sweet sticky soy based sauce.

‼️Please be aware all of our menu contains GLUTEN and SOYA - we CANNOT serve anyone with a severe GLUTEN or SOYA allergy or intolerance.‼️

FIRST JAPANESE TASTER EVENING OF 2025!

We're now taking bookings for our first Japanese taster evening of the year at the wonderful Sykehouse Village Hall!

Back in November we were booked up before publicly announcing it! Tables are very limited so please send us a message if you'd like to join us!

£35/pp due at time of booking. Bar open with variety of alcoholic and soft drinks - this is not a bring-your-own event.

We are currently closed until mid February for renovations - exciting! New equipment, new interior layout and exterior titivations are all in the works!

We know absence makes the heart grow fonder and soon enough we will be back out and about serving up a delicious Far Eastern inspired menu! Our improvements will mean there will be a couple new menu items including popular specials that will become permanent.

We are still of course taking bookings from mid February onwards - Pub/Village hall pop ups - Public events - Private events - Workplace pop ups - Taster evenings! We already have some exciting new venues to visit this year!

We also have a handy new form for private events, parties, weddings etc. where you'll want a reduced menu for a set amount of covers - the form will stay pinned to the top of our page.

So sorry for all those who were planning on visiting us tonight in Tickhill but due to illness Bao House won’t be serving this evening. Our next outing will be next Thursday at the wonderful Walkeringham Village Hall.
