So for the 6th time in a few months I’m back in the papers! Could you not use a better picture? Why? Because we are no longer renting the kitchen at Rokeby Gardens?? We wanted the kitchen at Rokeby because we needed it for large buffets and in return we fed the incredible residents at a reduced rate. Unfortunately, after the last witch hunt we lost so many bookings for buffets, it became untenable to feed residents and the most we could earn was £150 a day, we needed catering and the free press saw to it that catering was ended.
I’m going to readdress this for the last time - two years ago I had a heart attack, the restaurant had to shut down meaning we had to cancel over 100 events, I was absolutely heart broken, but every single deposit was paid back, some took a while but I worked through it! I can’t imagine what it’s like to be cancelled on but I couldn't do anything from a hospital bed. But to those events that were cancelled once again I’m sorry. I went from 14 stone to 9 in this time, I could barely function. Anyway, we paid everyone back, most were very understanding so thankyou. Once I got my health back I started again and it was great, we had so much support it was incredible. And the orders for catering were rolling in, then we had the small wedding which was difficult to say the least but we tried to push through, 2 days after the wedding we get the complaint which I found weird as they didn’t complain on the night, but I wasn’t ready for a fight so I just offered the money back. Next thing we’re in the free press 3 times from their copy and paste journalists. The truth that people don’t know about me at that time is me and my then-partner had a miscarriage and lost a baby! I didn’t take it very well and couldn’t be arsed to fight, this led to the breakdown of the relationship, also me having to leave home. I was fully prepared to pay them back as I thought it would be easy. Then cancellations start coming in due to the people that had been let down after the heart attack keyboard warmongering despite being paid back, so it’s gone to the small claims court, and we are cooperating. But I know I don’t deserve this. In the last 6 months I’ve lost my baby, my partner, my home, my dog and my car got knicked the other day. The free press haven't even asked about Rokeby they haven’t contacted me about it it’s a nonsense article but my mental health can’t take much more! I can’t take much more, so after we finish off the last of the buffets we have booked in, it’s over. I don’t know why Darren at the free press has such a thing against me but I’ve been told it’s because I get a lot of likes and shares as apposed to the posts he shares about things happening in Hull.
Let’s do some positives as Darren is defo gonna share this for more likes and shares - Donny’s best breakfast, sunday lunch and burger, voted for by you, two national competitions in the last 5 for sunday lunch and breakfast, during covid I was feeding everyone’s grandparents, feeding kids for free during school holidays long before footballers were doing it! Supported schools and vulnerable children, fed the homeless for 16 years for free on Xmas day. We actually contacted the free press for support and got none, not mentioned the thousands of followers who actually like what we do, if your one of them please comment on here so the free press can see it!! All buffets left will be honoured I think it’s about 3 haha, and will someone get a better picture of me please in case I get fired from my next job and send it to Darren at the free press, can’t believe I’m in the papers for no longer renting a kitchen 😂
To the loyal ones, thank you so much, the last decade has been an absolute blast but it’s over. My head won’t take much more but they never ask about your personal situation or even ask you.

So we’re doing an Sunday lunch raffle. We will feed 2 family’s of 5 Sunday lunch this Sunday before football and we will deliver it.
