We're gearing up again in preparation for our friends at SBD, the sponsors of Sheffield Powerlifting Championships 2025, who are back again ready for the final on January 26th at Sheffield City Hall.

For our followers that like our numbers - that's 204 people to move including Executives, VIPs, Athletes, Referees, Spotters, Coaches, Partners, Prize Winners and Staff. The whole kit and caboodle! That's 54 flights (and counting) that we'll either be greeting or loading aircraft with a selection of vehicles including Mercedes Benz E, V and S Class, BMW 5 and 7 Series, a 8 Seater MPV, a 15 Seater Coach, a 33 Seater Coach and the trusty Range Rover Vogue. A big thanks to our trusted associates for helping out with this one - most of which are Guild of Professional Chauffeurs members. It's year 3 for us so we should know what we're doing by now and always have a Plan B!

The Sheffield Powerlifting Championships will return in 2025, as 24 of world’s strongest powerlifters assemble in the United Kingdom to battle it out for the title of champion of champions. Launched in partnership with the International Powerlifting Federation, the Sheffield Powerlifting Championships showcases the stars of powerlifting in a high-profile event with the largest prize fund in the sport’s history.

12 men and 12 women will form an all-star roster for an action-packed night of heavy squats, bench presses and deadlifts, aiming to put together the biggest total weight across those three lifts as possible. From lightweight to super-heavyweight competitors, all will be scored on the same metric: Who can break the world record total by the greatest margin?

To automatically qualify for the event, athletes must compete at the 2024 International Powerlifting Federation World Championships, after which a select number will receive invitations to Sheffield 2025, and will have the opportunity to defend their place among the World’s best.

When we state that we’re available 24/7/365 we really mean it!
I’m currently having lunch at 20.00hrs at Birchanger Services en route to collect clients from LGW (now delayed by 90mins and due around midnight) and drop them in Cambridgeshire & North Harrogate before heading home for bed.
Remember the 365 bit? Yes, we’re also booked and working on Christmas Day!

It's official! Here's confirmation of my 3rd RoSPA Advanced driving test (Gold Standard) in a row including the Overall Comments below from my examiner Chris Potten for those that are interested.

OVERALL COMMENTS
Chef gave a smooth and systematic drive and stated he had given a commentary on previous tests. His narrative was quite fluent and informative, he was able to fully explain how techniques employed were linked to his knowledge of ‘Roadcraft’. Operation of the major controls was smooth and progressive, achieving a good balance between the accelerator, and auto gearbox, utilising the significant power and smoothness to his advantage. Observation was good, it was evident that he moved his head to extend his vision and look for cross views. He showed good anticipation of other drivers’ actions and adopted correct driving plans. Chef made good progress on all road types, but commented on showing restraint where vulnerable users were evident, around the Clumber Park area. There were a couple of minor lapses in speed compliance but this was immediately brought back under control. He always positioned the vehicle correctly in lanes and on roundabouts. Due to road works, the M1 motorway was not deemed suitable on the day. His line on bends was in accordance with Roadcraft principles, and he understood the advantages of positioning for vision and
balance. This was a competent drive given to a high standard. Chef is an experienced driver and chauffeur, he utilised advanced and defensive techniques at all times, making skilful use of road and traffic conditions and the capabilities of the test vehicle to make progress. He was calm and relaxed throughout and coped well with all situations encountered. I felt entirely comfortable as a passenger, and I have no hesitation in confirming his grade as a gold level driver.
RESULT: GOLD

Keeping up with our training is very important to us at Domino Transfer to remain at the top of our game. As a professional chauffeur we think it's only right that we are checked regularly to ensure we haven't picked up any bad habits.

Our membership of the Institute of Advanced Motorists has just been renewed and we've just paid for the renewal test with RoSPA for the Advanced Driving Test.

The RoSPA advanced test is regarded as the most comprehensive and challenging available to the public. It is monitored and approved by the Driving Standards Agency. The test lasts around 60 minutes, and is taken with a RoSPA Examiner, all of whom are serving or retired Police Officers, within the UK.

Clients (1 from Doncaster + 2 from Hertford) safely dropped off on time at Royal Ascot. I have escaped the madness to this little oasis! Now lounging in track suit and t-shirt and looking forward to a great lunch at reasonable prices - and in a free car park! I’m finally a Yorkshireman!
