St Mary's Charminster Summer Cookery Club

Booking is now open for our Summer Cookery Clubs! We're running these slightly differently this year, with one morning in Charminster, one morning in Frampton, and one morning for all participants at Wagamama's in Brewery Square.

Children leaving School Year 2 (entering year 3) and older are welcome. Booking is essential. Please sign them up for ONE morning, and then indicate whether they would like to join us at Wagamama's on Thursday. There are no separate Thursday places.

If you appreciate our work with young people, please consider giving to St Mary's Charminster or St Mary's Frampton. A small regular gift at about the same cost of a weekly cup of coffee can ensure our ability to provide more activities for families who benefit from them during the holidays.

LiveWell Dorset will be delivering free NHS health checks in the small meeting room at Charminster Community Hall on Thursday 19th September from 9am until 4pm. 🙂 If you've already been invited for an NHS Health Check by your GP or pharmacy, please do take up the offer and book your appointment with them. 🙂

An NHS health check is a free check-up on your cardiovascular health and can spot early signs of diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease or stroke.

If you are aged 40-74 and do not have an existing condition such as heart disease and have not had an NHS Health Check in the last 5 years, you could be eligible for a health check with LiveWell Dorset. Tonight’s WI meeting at the Community Hall at 7.15 for 7.30pm. Their speaker will be Helen Baggott, who will talk about the travels of her great, great aunt through postcards, etc. Their members have been asked to bring along a postcard of their own with an explanation of what it means to them. They have had a lot of new members recently, and visitors are welcome to attend at a cost of £3 each.

Charminster Pre-school and St Marys First School Charminster School Association need volunteers to support their Charminster Family Fun Day. They are in desperate need of volunteers to help with stalls and the bar. Stall slots are 12-2pm or 2-4pm. They currently need around another 30 volunteers. "Charminster Village Movement Strategy"
The hall will be open from 6pm on Tuesday 26th March to drop in before the meeting to view the plan.

We would like to invite you to the Parish Council meeting tomorrow evening 7pm at the Community Hall to discuss the Charminster village Movement Strategy, you will have the opportunity to view the plan and comment then the Parish Council will be considering the adoption of the plan.

The Community Hall will be open from 6pm to view the plan should you wish to come earlier, feedback forms will be available.
