Durnovaria Band Hall

The Durnovaria Silver Band is a musically progressive Brass Band in Dorchester and under the current MD leadership of Ian Young we are increasing in numbers and going from strength to strength we currently have 29 Brass & percussion players in the band.
We still require the elusive Bass players either Bb or Eb (or both) and a Soprano cornet player, you could be a cornet player who might want to transition to Soprano if so we have the resources to support you.
You could be a returning Brass player or someone who enjoys playing in another band and wants another evening of brass playing whatever your current situation then you'd be extremely welcome at DSB.

All instruments are provided.

Rehearsals on Friday evenings from 6pm - 6.45pm (training band)
DSB main band 7pm - 9pm

Did you know that Dorchester has a Brass Band Training Band which is open to children from aged 8 and adults who wish to learn a brass instrument.
Are you an adult who used to play a brass instrument and would like to take up the hobby again if so we run refresher courses to get you back into banding.
Are you an adult who would like to take up a hobby with your child then we can help you both.
Learning to play a brass instrument is proven to help with your breathing (asthma) and is certainly good for your mental health.
All tuition and instruments are provided free of charge if you would like to know more then please drop me a message.

Hall hire £55 for four hours which includes both rooms and kitchenette (£50 damages deposit required, returned after party if no damage)

We are looking forward to having Space Yoga at the hall from the 16th of October 🪐

Hello my lovely friends,

As some of you know already, I am moving my classes from DorchesterAgoge - this has been such a brilliant space to teach over the past 2 years and thank you very much to Luke for making us so welcome 🙏

As the gym doesn’t have heating, it was challenging to keep warm in the winter months and this has led to searching for a new home for my classes.

I’m delighted to say that I’ve found two brilliant locations to move to.

Sunday morning classes will be at Dorchester Yoga and Therapy Centre 14 Trinity Street, DT1 1DD (above Coffee One in town centre) from 6th October - this week!

Wednesday morning class will be at Durnovaria Band Hall Kings Road, DT1 1NH (opposite One Stop at the bottom of Fordington) from 16th October - two weeks today.

As always please remember to book in via GymCatch and the new location details will show on the app when you book.

There will be mats and props available to borrow at Dorchester Yoga Centre but for classes at Durnovaria Band Hall please bring your own mat. I will provide props if we are using them in class.

Big thank you to all of you for your support whilst we adjust to these new locations and do reach out if you need any extra info.
