Hello my lovely friends,

As some of you know already, I am moving my classes from DorchesterAgoge - this has been such a brilliant space to teach over the past 2 years and thank you very much to Luke for making us so welcome 🙏

As the gym doesn’t have heating, it was challenging to keep warm in the winter months and this has led to searching for a new home for my classes.

I’m delighted to say that I’ve found two brilliant locations to move to.

Sunday morning classes will be at Dorchester Yoga and Therapy Centre 14 Trinity Street, DT1 1DD (above Coffee One in town centre) from 6th October - this week!

Wednesday morning class will be at Durnovaria Band Hall Kings Road, DT1 1NH (opposite One Stop at the bottom of Fordington) from 16th October - two weeks today.

As always please remember to book in via GymCatch and the new location details will show on the app when you book.

There will be mats and props available to borrow at Dorchester Yoga Centre but for classes at Durnovaria Band Hall please bring your own mat. I will provide props if we are using them in class.

Big thank you to all of you for your support whilst we adjust to these new locations and do reach out if you need any extra info.

Durnovaria Silver Bands training band met for the first time last Friday after the Christmas holidays.
If you would like to learn to play a brass instrument, or you are a lapsed player and want to start playing again then please do get in touch.
All tuition is free and instruments are provided.
The training band meets every Friday from 6pm - 6.45pm at the Durnovaria Silver Band Trust band hall.
All ages and abilities will be made welcome

The current Musical Director of the Durnovaria Silver Band (Dorchester) is retiring at Christmas and the band is looking for someone interested in taking on this role from January 2024. We are a concert band (we don’t currently contest) but are quite busy throughout the year with engagements in the surrounding area, such as fetes, concerts on the bandstand and in the town, Portland Port and at Civic events.

If you think you might be interested and would like to discuss the position further please do get in touch.

Are you a current or lapsed brass player or just moved to the area and looking for a band to play with? Durnovaria Silver Band, Dorchester’s own brass band, is looking for extra players. We are a friendly group and meet on Friday evenings in The Durnovaria Band Hall (the former Fordington Methodist Church) in Kings Road, Dorchester from 7 to 9pm.

We are a concert band (we don’t currently contest) and play at various venues in the town and surrounding area – at fetes, on the bandstand, in the town, Portland Port – to name a few, all through the year.

We also hold a training session on Fridays at 6pm for learners who are keen to get involved in this wonderful hobby.

If you interested in joining us or learning to play a brass instrument please get in touch. Be assured of a warm welcome.
