WOW what a weekend.
Its been wonderful to meet so many lovely families and what a privilege to paint some for their very first time too!!
Although I had 15 design options available to choose from there's always a few individual request, and what kind of artist would I be if I refused .... So an axolotl, a turtle and magnamalo made it into the mix too 👍
I love my job 🥰❤️😍

What a week so far and its not over yet party people!
This week I've had the pleasure of painting at a Nursery Fun Day, where it was flowers in abundance ... Daisies, Dandelions, Sunflowers and Tulips 🌸🌼🌻🌷

Then be welcomed into the wonderful world of YouthCraft for their end of term social. With more detailed designs on offer, they still tested my skills with some specific requests which I gladly attempted and they we're ecstatic with the results 😍

Last but not least, later today I will be at the Sutherland Womans FC Fun Day in Golspie so come and say hi ⚽️

I repeatedly get asked to paint children under the age of 3.
Sadly, I have to upset you and possibly your child by saying NO but to put it simply, we cannot do it.
I am a Professional facepainter and I'm fully aware of the risks that painting on under developed sensitive skin can pose.
Babies and toddlers skin is highly permeable as it is a thinner epidermal layer with less barrier function than in older children and adults. Our products are much more easily absorbed possibly causing further issues. It is always advised that you should avoid perfumes and dyes that can irritate young skin.
UK insurance companies stipulate that we cannot paint the faces of anyone under the age of 3 years old.
These are also the manufacturers guidelines.

Non professional facepainters may not be aware of these guidelines and risks. Also may not have the relevant insurance. Please be safe! For your child's sake.

Painting an under 3 could:
🚫Risk of future allergic reactions.
🚫Risk of contact dermatitis.
🚫Risk of rubbing paint into their eyes.
🚫Risk of not sitting still and getting a brush in their eye.
🚫Risk of trauma due to not understanding what is happening.
A child must be able to give their own consent to wanting facepaint not just for the sake of a parents amusement. They must be verbal or show willing themselves.

✔Please help raise this awareness.
✔Please don't tell us they will be fine, they've had it done before.
✔Please be careful if a facepainter is happy to paint your baby, they may not realise.
✔Please don't blame the facepainter who says NO.
Have this in mind that we didn't upset your child deliberately, you should just not ask us to do it.

FRIDAY - WHY DAY??

I often get asked "why did you start face painting?".

Just so happens I was given a reminder a few days ago ....

2 years ago (almost to the day), I did a tiny ickle dot/flower on my daughter as a skin test. She had/has very sensitive and eczema prone skin and we had always avoided facepaint as we were unsure of a possible irritation.

So (unaware of facepaint guidance and best practices *) I purchased a mini set from a well known highstreet brand.

A few dots later ..... there was no reaction and the rest is history. I'm so happy with the path that led me to here.

*with this is mind, it has made me realise that until I started face painting professionally I was not ware of the guidances and why they existed.
I ensure I follow all of the protocols but not every 'artist' will. So in the coming weeks will share various guidelines with you so you can always ensure your most precious loved ones are protected when being face painted xx

Hello Lovelies 👋
For those who haven’t met me yet I’m Amy.
I'm the owner and solo creative artiste behind The Face Paint Imaginarium.

After sharing images of my designs I had painted on my daughter (made just to create joy) a friend asked me to support an event she was holding, I did, and have never looked back!!
And so I officially launched The FPI in 2023.

I’m looking forward to a very busy summer and can’t wait to see some familiar faces at current/future bookings! Thank you so much to all of you, I can’t wait to see where my little joyous business takes me!
