Co Down 5KM

Yesterday we had the pleasure of having Brian who volunteers for Air Ambulance NI Down to the Parkrun to hand over the money raised at the Co Down 5k held back in June.

This year we done the race in memory of young Jamie Jay Marks. We thank the Marks family for all the help they give us in the run up to the race and on the day.

To all the sponsors, runners and helpers we can’t thank you all enough cause without your help this race would not happen and we would not be handing over this fantastic amount of £1941 👏👏👏

Theresa Hughes from West Limerick 🏃‍♀️

Came to the Co Down 5k last year as part of her 32 5k’s in 32 counties.

She loved it that much last year she came back this year. You’re all probably thinking what’s the big deal?
Well she travelled 4hrs 22mins to run a 5k 👏👏👏

The Marks family down supporting the Co Down 5k on Friday night

Some of the Grandkids running the kids races, Paddy said his running days are over lol

The Co Down 5k this year was in memory of young Jamie ‘Jay’ Marks and all the profits going to air Ambulance NI such a great cause

The Marks family have done a few fundraisers recently with all the money going to charities close to their hearts and all in memory of Jamie

A big thanks to Eurospar Downpatrick for coming down to the Co Down 5k on Friday night.

Not only did they put up 150 goodie bags for all the kids but for the first year they put a water station up for all the runners when they past each lap.

Helped with handing out medals and water for all the finishers

One enjoyed it that much she got up and at it early and done the Dunleath Parkrun this morning 👏
