More reasons to jump on cheaper winter tickets while you can....here's 7 WAYS WE'RE GREENER 💚🌻🌼

Part of our series looking at the incredible history and achievements of the GG festival and community, this month it's all about being GREEN

Did you know?

1) Power: all our electrical power is clean, green and renewably generated - and it always has been, since such tech was very new!

2) Cooking & Heating: Britain's 'lowest carbon loaf' was baked on our festival site in a solar oven with wheat ground by windmill... and those solar ovens also heat water for washing up. All our traders commit to our standards too.

3) Transport: our performers' gear is moved between stages by pedal-powered trike or giant human-powered wheelbarrows!

4) Food: all food stalls are vegetarian with vegan options, over 50% are completely vegan - and even carnivores appreciate the quality and variety of delicious meals on offer, from wood-fired pizza to authentic burrito, falafels to Sri Lankan curry! Our Crock 'n' Rock stall lends out real crockery and cutlery - and washes it up for you when you're done.

5) Drink: our very reasonably-priced bars serve locally brewed beverages in sturdy reusable cups and we don't sell bottled or canned water - it's refills all the way.

6) Waste: there's 14 different categories of waste collected at GG so you have to think before you throw! Zero waste goes to landfill

7) Community: the one thing Green Gatherers love most about our festival is the feeling of community, friendliness and support.

Here's some of the experiences a first-timer from 2023 shared:

"I loved that it was an eco festival and had options to be calm and reflective as well as all the music and activity. It got me really excited to be more active on rights and climate issues. It is a special community you've created and I felt so welcome. My favourite thing was that EVERYONE smiled and said hello to each other. Like real life human beings! It was a total joy and I can't wait for next year."

Snap up the last remaining winter tickets for just £135 until the end of this month here: https://www.greengathering.org.uk/tickets

The Green Gathering are doing amazing things! 💚

Did you stop by Hill Vilage at GG 23? Beneath trees along the edge of our Village Green you’ll find makers, nomads and elders of the festival circuit – those who live off grid all year round, and characters with many a tale to tell. This year's highlights included:

- SliCK Solar Stoves, boiling up kettles and cooking up a storm thermally. These solar stoves are so powerful the team supplies neighbouring traders with hot water for washing up!
- The Low Impact Living crew demonstrating how to use a rocket stove or build a bender.
- Pete at his One Planet Development tent explaining how to turn the dream of sustainable living into reality.
- Celia’s Herbals offering up natural remedies, and of course everyone had a browse through Steve of Britain’s quality tat.
- Learning all about repairing and using hand tools at Tools For Self Reliance and fixing up fabrics at the Solar Sewing stall.
- Enjoyment of SAM’s heavenly Magic Hat Showers.
- Rolling Oats, the travelling zero-waste shop, on hand to help us sustainably stock up.

Looking back at festivals I organised over the past 11 years...so many beautiful memories!

The ultimate moment for me is when I'm in a festival field and I look around and see so many happy people having an amazing time, hanging with old friends & family, making new friends - making the best memories! I love to know that I was a big part of creating these moments that allow people to hang out, be themselves and have fun together! I absolutely love bringing people together!

🎉 Festival Organizer Guide: How to Plan and Execute an Epic Event! 🎪

Are you passionate about bringing joy and music to the masses? Do you dream of organizing an unforgettable festival experience? Look no further! We've got you covered with our festival organizer guide. Here are some tips to help you plan and execute an epic event:

1️⃣ Define your vision: Determine the type of festival you want to organize—music, food, art, or a combination? Clarify your goals and envision the unique experience you want to create for attendees.

2️⃣ Secure a venue: Find a spacious and suitable location for your festival. Consider factors like accessibility, amenities, and permits required. Remember to negotiate contracts and ensure all legal aspects are sorted out.

3️⃣ Line up incredible talent: Book diverse and talented artists, bands, or performers who resonate with your festival's theme and target audience. Create a lineup that will leave attendees in awe and wanting more!

4️⃣ Plan the logistics: Pay attention to every detail, from ticketing systems and entry procedures to parking arrangements and crowd management. Make sure everything runs smoothly and safely throughout the event.

5️⃣ Engage sponsors and partners: Collaborate with sponsors and partners who align with your festival's values and can provide support, funding, or additional resources. Foster mutually beneficial relationships.

6️⃣ Promote like crazy: Don't underestimate the power of marketing! Utilize social media, email campaigns, press releases, and local collaborations to generate buzz and attract attendees. Create a sense of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)!

7️⃣ Enhance the experience: Think beyond the music! Offer unique attractions, interactive installations, food vendors, and engaging activities to keep attendees entertained and immersed in the festival atmosphere.

8️⃣ Embrace Sustainability: Promote eco-friendly practices and reduce your festival's environmental impact. Encourage recycling, use renewable energy sources, and collaborate with local organizations to give back to the community.

9️⃣ Ensure safety and security: Prioritize the well-being of your attendees with proper security measures, medical services, and emergency planning. Create a safe environment where everyone can enjoy themselves.

🔟 Learn and adapt: After the festival, gather feedback from attendees, vendors, and staff. Evaluate what worked well and what can be improved. Continuously learn and adapt for even better future events.

🌟 Get ready to rock the festival scene! Follow these tips and create an amazing experience that will leave a lasting impression on your attendees. Remember, details matter, and a well-executed plan, combined with passion and dedication, will make your festival shine!
