💫🎄 DAY 11 🎁💫

The Do’s ✅ and Don’ts ⛔️ when planning a marquee wedding! On day 11 we share some of our helpful tips for planning a marquee wedding with us!

It’s not always easy getting that balance right between giving the customer what they want and sometimes what they need, especially when they differ slightly!

We pride ourselves on the relationship we build with our customers throughout the planning process and these are some of the things we’ve learnt over the years that help you to help us make your event as special as it can be!

🥂🎁 DAY 10 🎉🍾

All wrapped up! That’s 2024 in the can for the Florida team after closing the doors ready to enjoy a well earned break over Christmas!

We enjoyed a great day out at with hot chocolate, some last minute shopping, a fantastic meal and of course a rogue secret Santa followed by some well needed drinks!

A look back at some of our personal favourite jobs and events we’ve done this past year! After nearly 30 years we still never tire of that feeling we get when we finish a marquee!

From Gatsby themed 21sts, the best of Britain, to driving through rivers, to huge shows, to summer festivals and of course those incredibly beautiful weddings throughout!

This year has been a year full of brand new ideas, never been done before concepts and bigger than ever ambitions resulting in some of our most unique and successful events to date!

RACHEL
The framework to the marquee, the king pole to a Celeste, the backbone to Florida Marquees. Putting the ‘family’ in family business you may see smoke billowing from the office but don’t worry! There’s no fire it’s just Rach smashing through all the calls and emails!

Interesting fact: Has her brown belt in Karate

LUKE
Unless his beloved Liverpool have lost at the weekend, Luke always brings the energy. Family man Luke will always be smiling rain or shine dragging the team through. This Celeste expert will do anything for anyone.

Interesting fact: Hasn’t shut up since 1995 (Thomo’s words)

SAM
Drives like Lewis Hamilton, sings like Enya, works like a dog. No loading list is safe when Sam’s on it, if it’s on the list it’s going in the van. Twice.

Interesting fact: Would easily win mastermind if Italian football in the 90’s was his chosen category.

ZIGGY
Unlike Luke, Middleton’s finest is a man of few words. The reason our PVC is so clean, Zig runs the wash bay through the winter. Rocking a pair of wellies washing away the tears of another hull city defeat.

Interesting fact: No one knows why his nickname is actually Ziggy.

MEET THE TEAM Pt. 1

Meet our honest, hardworking and absolutely wonderful team! Today we have…

PAUL
Cut him open he bleeds Florida Marquees. He may have lost his taste in covid (you’ve told us already Paul) but he certainly hasn’t for decorating a marquee. The first and last port of call, nothing gets past Paul!

Interesting fact: He collects rare fish from exotic places around the world.

THOMO
A true stalwart of Marqueeing. This techtonic king knows everything there is to know about putting up a tent. Throw the tape measures away when this guy is on site his eyes never lie.

Interesting fact: He has the best calves north of the river Humber and is in a band.

MEG
Jack of all trades and master of them too. Meg can do it all, whether that’s in the office keeping things going or on site mixing it with the lads, Meg just gets it.

Interesting fact: she has a guinea pig called Garibaldi.

KIERAN
A loveable rogue with stories we can never work out if they are true. This man can lift double the amount of rafters as anyone on half the dinner. Proper good grafter and a proper nice lad.

Interesting fact: Once impaled his leg in a trampolining accident.

EMILY
Just as lovely over the phone or in an email as she is in person, Emily really is a people person with a great sense of humour. This devoted mum will help anyone!

Interesting fact: Once sang on a west end stage.

⭐️JUST WOW!⭐️

“These guys really know there stuff! We attended one of their wedding fayres and managed to book everything for our wedding!

In terms of rentals we got everything through Florida tent chairs tables toilets generators lights you name it, it was all under one company which kept everything streamline and simple.

The team were very professional, tidy and gave us excellent advice which really paid off and the atmosphere the space created couldn’t be replicated if we had gone bigger!

The marquee looked amazing in the day and the night!”

Firstly a big Congratulations to the lovely Connie Walker who was our last wedding of 2023 and what a wedding marquee it was with a file over an inch thick Megan and Connie really got their heads together with planning Connie's dream marquee interior. From black linings to clear roofs it really was a very bespoke marquee for this time of year and looked absolutely amazing. We wish them all the best for 2024 and their future together and we also wish all our customer's, suppliers and Florida friends a very Happy 2024 too.
