We couldn’t get all 27 of us together at the same time, but every single team member has worked tirelessly not just this week but all year long. Each of them lives locally, so when you support us, you’re directly benefiting our community – something we’re incredibly proud of.

We will have a full selection of fresh herbs in the shop tomorrow from our good friends at Herbs Unlimited at Thirsk. Along with fresh bags of rocket, peashoots and mixed salad bags. But be early we open at 7.30am and its normally busy very early on Christmas Eve. We will also be fully stocked again with Parsnips, Sprouts, Caulis and all your other festive requirements.

To My Fellow Independent Greengrocers

It’s the 23rd of December, the busiest trading day of the year for so many of us. For most, it’s a marathon 14-16 hour day (and for some, even longer). But what we do today plays a huge role in countless Christmas celebrations—families are depending on us for their Christmas lunch.

The sheer volumes of sprouts, parsnips, carrots, and everything else we shift over these few days are mind-blowing. And let’s be honest—this is why we do it! The buzz, the adrenaline, and the satisfaction of being part of something so special make all the hard work worthwhile.

Let the supermarkets do their thing—we know we can’t match their scale, but we don’t need to. There’s plenty of trade out there for everyone. Keep the quality high, because that’s what sets us apart. When we deliver the best, our customers come back. They always do.

And then, when it’s all done, don’t forget to find the time to enjoy your own Christmas with your family. They make so many sacrifices to support you—missing out on social events, cheering you on, and watching you come home completely shattered, both physically and mentally. Many of them see first-hand the challenges we face, and they have make theur own sacrifices too. They deserve a wonderful Christmas, as do the incredible team of people working alongside you in the business.

So embrace the madness, enjoy the energy, and give it your all. Before you know it, it’ll be January, and we’ll all be tackling the next challenges.

We've got two Christmas trees that were reserved and never collected. Both around 6ft. These were £45 trees. If anybody would like one we would be happy for a small donation into one of our charity tins should you still be able to make use of one. If you aren't in a position to give anything then that's fine also just send us a message and we will save it for you,

We were so touched earlier this week when a lovely customer brought us this amazing box of buns and a heartfelt note to thank us for looking out for her elderly relative. 💌

The finish line is in sight! We are open tomorrow (Sunday) from 8.15am-4pm
Thankyou if you have an online order coming tomorrow. We have 4 vans on the road making the deliveries and we are hoping the drivers will be done in reasonable time.
Thankyou also to everyone who came to the shop today it`s been a lovely atmosphere here in Driffield. Its starting to look like Christmas!

Wow what a day! Thankyou for the incredible support. We are open tomorrow (Saturday) Sunday, Monday & Tuesday.
A little tip from us if you want to avoid the big queues, do your shopping on Sunday. We have fresh produce arriving every day and we will have a full compliment available. It won't be quite as busy as the other days. Just keep that between us though👍
