A spiral flower bouquet made with a leucadendron centre and Rosa Avalanche Pearl, Clematis Blue Piroutte, Astranthia Star of Love and Tanacetum giving a beautiful mix of colour and textures all framed by Pavifolia foliage. Soft and gentle.
⬆️Making an aqua-bouquet⬆️ Most of my bouquets are wrapped in brown paper and tied with natural raffia. As my flowers are always well conditioned, they’ll be fine out of water for a couple of hours but aqua-packs are useful for travelling. A local customer of mine always takes my flowers when she visits her daughter in Belgium. Wedged next to the suitcase, they’ll be fine for an overnight stay in the car. Why am I now thinking about Belgium chocolate? 🥴
Now that the flower auctions have re-started, I have flowers again 🎉 So they don’t freeze tonight, I’ll be moving them in my warmer flower shed at about 7pm. But please help yourself from my shed (through the gate next to my front door) if you need any for your host on your way to supper. (That includes your partner if they are hosting for just you tonight 😬)#sayitwithflowers
The wet May has been good for my plants, (“wet May = long hay”) with the exception of the excess slugs. I’ve had success with Ammi and Daucus this year with the help of my new Carrot Fly barrier and I’m looking forward to seeing the new flowers I’m trialling this year too. And my dahlias are just starting to bud. So forget the balloon rides or fancy trips away - just stick me on my allotment and I’m happy #cheapdate
Summery daisies, cow parsley lace, scented sweet rocket, Granny’s bonnets and peony in my little flower stall this weekend 🌸
I’m in full seed-sowing mode and loving every minute. They start on my kitchen window sill, transition to my allotment summerhouse and end up looking like this reel of my summer allotment once planted. I still marvel at how amazing nature is, even though I’ve been in horticulture for over 30 years. I’m excited to be growing new varieties this year and can’t wait to share them with you🌱
My favourite Bell Song tulips! Aren’t they just gorgeous? Also in my Flower Stall this weekend, I have pretty daisy Santini Chrysants, flowering Mint and Limonium sprays. When the flowers fade, separate the Limonium and pop in a vase with 5cm of water where it’s beauty and colour will dry beautifully for you to carry on enjoying forever. #driedflower
