As we approach Remembrance Sunday we wanted to share this photo taken at Himley Hall in the early 1940’s, and to honour the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces community.

A lesser known part of our history, Himley Hall was used as a Red Cross Hospital during the Second World War. Many patients who came here to recover were Royal Air Force servicemen who had been treated by Sir Archibald McIndoe, the pioneering New Zealand plastic surgeon who created new treatments for burn victims, and who believed in the importance of continuing to support patients in their recovery and rehabilitation.

The main Himley Hall car park is NOW FULL so please head for Col's Car Boot, where you can park and ride for £8 (please have cash ready if possible for speed).

If you're coming in by taxi, ask your driver to drop you outside the site.
