Ecko promotions started back in 1996 with a Wednesday night promotion at a venue known as the Steering Wheel (later to be called Hidden Nightclub). From the first promotion that bought in nearly 600 clubbers the promotion grew in strength and later moved to ‘Marco Polo Bar’. After a short break the promotion company returned to the venue where it began it’s life but it was now rebranded as Hidden Nightclub & Bar. From 2002 until 2008 Ecko Promotions ran both the bar & the nightclub where it hosted such nights as 1 Night Stand, DJ EZ, Galaxy FM, Club Silk to name but a few. It was in 2003 that the promotion company launched it’s own record label ‘Ecko Records’ and using local vocalists and producers became one of the biggest known names in the bassline house scene. Tracks were signed to various ‘major’ labels such as Ministry of Sound & All Around The World and a multitude of tracks featured on main stream CD releases as well as official video shoots being commissioned.

Various DJs & producers came through the ranks at Ecko who have become very well known names in today circuits - these include such names as DJ Motionz (later known as Chris Lorenzo), DJ Shorterz, Tom Cox (Tommy Vercetti), Jenny Jones (The Voice), Hannah Wants (Hannah & Lisa).
