Yesterday's stunning brides Alexandra and Bethany - from Connecticut to Auchen Castle via Vegas! They chose one of my fave wedding readings: Love Like a River by Whitney Hanson.

"They say that sometimes
love starts with a spark.

And that might be true,
but if I were to wish you a love,
I wouldn’t wish fire for you.

You see, fire is powerful.
It burns bright and then it’s gone.
It’s beautiful and warm,
but it doesn’t last long.

So instead of wishing you a love that burns,
I wish you a love like a river twists and turns.
It changes and it flows,
It is powerful and free.
But it consistently finds its way back to the sea.

And so like the water,
I hope your love is ever growing, ever changing.
I hope your love is powerful and free,
And may you always find each other,

Like a river finds the sea."

I watched Emily and Chris walk across the car park to our ceremony planning meeting and my first thought was "Why's Chris carrying a car baby seat?"
They had only gone and had a baby since we last met! 👶 So I did what any good Humanist Society Scotland Celebrant would do and suggested we include a short naming and welcoming ceremony for baby Jewitt in their wedding ceremony! Guideparent pledges, parent pledges and the giving of Summer's name ❤️
Two ceremonies for the price of one! 😍😍

These gorgeous shots by are the bee's knees are they not? This is Beth and Luke with their daughter Isobel earlier this week at GG's Yard. The story of Luke, Beth AND Isobel is a roller coaster of emotion - there were tears aplenty. And Luke's mum Glynis read this, from Winnie the Pooh by AA Milne, which gets me EVERY TIME ❤️

"If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.”

Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.

“Pooh?” he whispered. “Yes, Piglet?”

“Nothing,” said Piglet, taking Pooh’s hand.

“I just wanted to be sure of you.”

“We’ll be Friends Forever, won’t we, Pooh?” asked Piglet.

“Even longer,” Pooh answered. “If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together… there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart… I’ll always be with you.”

I absolutely love the enthusiasm of the "WEYYYYYY" in this one. I originally thought 6/10 but I'm giving it a 7.5.
Thanks to all participants 😂

Why I’m a Humanist Society Scotland Celebrant

Hello! Choosing the Humanist Celebrant that's right for you is really important so let me tell you a little bit about me - I conduct Humanist Weddings, Vow Renewals and Namings - so I can help you say I do, I still do, and look what I did! (That last one applies to Naming Ceremonies - not sure that line works, but you can decide...).

I love to write, so writing ceremonies is an absolute blooming joy and I love to hear peoples' stories so that I can craft a ceremony that will knock their socks off!

I'm also the queen of statement necklaces and would feel naked if I didn't have e.g a six-inch glittery gold perspex lobster round my neck.

I’m also over on Instagram if you'd like to see some photos of ceremonies (and fancy necklaces make an appearance now and again) I've conducted, or drop me a message on 0773 901 7933 and we can have a no-obligation chat.
