Wendy & Callum's turn yesterday! Married in the hallowed halls of 'ye oldde but goldde' Crichton Memorial Church. It was their boy Oscar's first birthday, too!

Great things about the Crichton Church:
💒 That glorious aisle for Wendy to glide down.
💒 Plenty room at the front for bridesmaids and groomsmen, so the photographer doesn't have a dicky fit* trying to weave in and out to get the good shots
💒 Fab acoustics for my bellowing delivery, and for pipers to give it laldy
💒 The sound system. I once arrived early for a wedding, and George Michael's Praying for Time was playing in the empty church, and it was one of the most beautiful 4 minutes 40 seconds of my life. I almost turned to religion.
💒 It's nice and cool on even the hottest day

*remember we used to say dicky fit? "The teacher's having a dicky fit" 🤣

Alistair and Cat! I'm sorry it rained, and we had the ceremony inside, but we still had fun and no owl creating a dramarama this week 🦉
And Cat thoughtfully provided fans for the comfort of the guests, take note 🪭🪭🪭

Okay don't come at me for the string light in front of Kris's face! The sun rendered it invisible at the time and my AI editing skills didn't stretch to fixing it 🙃 Anyway KRIS AND MARNEY! All the way from NZ to their hame toon to get married with their three boys! Lots of familiar faces among the guests, like my past coming back to haunt me *nervous laugh*

And at least we'll be able to see the damn sun solstice-ing for a change. Wonder what they did hundreds of years ago when it was raining on the day of the Solstice? Mooch around Stonehenge in robes looking confused and wondering if they got the date right? (I know solstice-ing isn't a noun so calm down and don't report me for fake news)

Happy Summer Solstice!

Today marks the official start of astronomical summer in the Northern Hemisphere – and it’s the longest day of the year!

At 10:42 pm EDT (2:42 am GMT, June 21), the Sun travels its longest, highest arc across the sky all year for those north of the equator.

For centuries, cultures around the world have celebrated this moment from sunrise rituals at Stonehenge to dancing around maypoles in Sweden. It’s a time to honor the Sun, the Earth, and the turning of the seasons.

So what’s happening, exactly? The summer solstice occurs when Earth’s axial tilt leans most directly toward the Sun – about 23.5 degrees – placing the Sun directly overhead at the Tropic of Cancer. This tilt is also what gives us our seasons. Around this time, regions north of the Arctic Circle experience 24 hours of daylight, while the Southern Hemisphere begins its astronomical winter.

Wherever you are, take a moment to soak in the sunlight; it’s the most we’ll get all year!

Non wedding chat 💐
Flowers bring me all the joy! I look at them all the time if they're in the house, and I'm sure Les is sick to the back teeth of me saying, "Look at them; aren't they beautiful?" and she goes "yes they're lovely, " as she grinds her teeth to bloody stumps because that's the tenth time I've said it that day.
Here, we have my absolute favourites - sweet peas and peonies. The former is a gift from an old pal, the latter a gift from the aforementioned wife (the third one is a subscription I forgot to cancel because idiot)
One of the sweet peas is leggy but the scissors are in the dishwasher, accidentally on a 15 hour "Eco" cycle 🙄🙄🙄
