Last night we turned on the telly and saw ourselves!

Channel 4 is replaying our series of Four In A Bed. Tonight is our episode, it starts right now on Channel 4 so tune in if you never got to see it the first time!

We've had two really beautifully photogenic events up here at Marthrown in the last few weeks. More photos to come, but first we'd like to make a post specifically about these new additions to the site.

Thanks to the wonderful Chris, who got married to Donna here recently. He put his chainsaw skills to use creating these stunning mushrooms, alongside a couple of other pieces which we'll show you very soon.

After 18 wonderful years Pam and Mike are ready to sell Marthrown of Mabie as a going concern and retire by the end of 2025
(we are well into pensionable age already!).

We are a multi award-winning wedding and events venue, glamping and campsite in the heart of Mabie Forest near Dumfries in SW Scotland that has welcomed thousands of visitors.
It’s probably fair to say we are pretty unique; for a start we are completely off-grid and over a mile from our nearest neighbour.

We're doing No Mow May again this year and leaving parts of our site to grow beautiful wild flowers. So lovely seeing the verges filled with colour and buzzing with wildlife!

Almost time to say goodbye to the bluebells, but they've been so stunning to look at this year. 😍

Pam had some friends over today to play with willow and make some garden dragonflies. There might have been some confusion when deciphering the instruction book but there was lots of laughter coming from the dining room!

Dalshinnie Loch is one of the spots within the forest where you can get married. We went for a little walk down there the other day and it's looking lovely in the spring sunshine.

Here we go again! It takes a lot of work to keep all the fires stocked at this time of year.

Recently we celebrated our 18th birthday... We are officially an adult!

The past 18 years have involved so much hard work but have been so rewarding at the same time. We have renovated buildings, we have built yurts, we have rebuilt the roundhouse. Developed our off grid system, welcomed thousands of guests and witnessed many beautiful marriages; all different in their own way. Starred on both Don't Tell The Bride and Four In A Bed, and we've received awards as a wedding venue and for our campsite. We sadly waved goodbye to many diseased larch trees but welcomed some stunning views across the Solway. We survived a global pandemic and the dramatic changes that it brought.

We are honoured to call this corner of the beautiful Mabie Forest our home, and are excited to see what the next few years bring us! 😍

Go West is back again! 🤩

For their next adventure “Out West”, the Hairy Bikers are back in Scotland, but this time in the stunningly beautiful region of Dumfries and Galloway.

It’s another place close to Dave and Si’s hearts, a rural paradise, with a glorious coastline that stretches for more than 200 miles, which they used to visit thirty years ago when they first became best friends.

On this return visit they’ll be looking to explore and unearth some hidden gems amongst this wonderful food producing region.
