•Take part in different outdoor activities like an obstacle course, a slackline course, blind trail, how to use axes and saws and toast marshmallows. 🪚
•Kingdom Of Creatures will be joining us from 1.30pm with animal talks and handling, balloon modelling and magic! 🪄 🐍
•We will be having entertainment from our Theatre Group throughout the day 🎭
•Soft play from Birthday Bear Soft Play Hire. 🛝
•We have a wide range of emergency services joining us on the day! Dumfries & Galloway Blood Bikes, HM Coastguard Annan, SFRS Dumfries & Galloway, Police Scotland Dumfries & Galloway, ambulance service and more! 🚔🏍️🚑
•Lots of fun to be had on bouncy castles and slides with Potts amusements 🏰
•Trailer rides around the site. 🚘
•Feeling creative? Visit our craft tent! 🎨
•The water slide! Slip and slide down the hill on our fantastic waterslide! 💧
•Feeling competitive? Have a go at our lawn games including our brand new target soft 'axe' throwing! 🎯
•Bounce around in our space hopper paddock! 🟠

All of these activities are completely free!

Humes Catering Services will also be on site selling ice-cream and tasty treats! 🍦

Jodie’s cafe will also be open to purchase food. 🍽️

We also have the following attending:

River Annan District Salmon Fishery Board with a whole host of fishing activities 🎣
Castlemilk & Corrie Estates joining us on the day to do a demonstration with a tractor and roof crane and then some chainsaw cross cutting for you all to watch! 🚜🪚

As this is a community event we are still on the look out for local charities, groups and organisations to come along and have a stall or run activities for everyone to take part in. Please send us a message or email [email protected] with information about your group and what you plan to do.

GALA INFORMATION! 🧡

We've had a few questions drop into our inbox since our poster went out announcing the full line up for our annual Gala. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions.

When is it? ⏰

The gala is THIS Saturday, July 27th. We are kicking off activity at 11am, and our big finale starts at 4pm.

Where is it? 📍

Like last year, the Gala is spread around Lochside. The majority of activity is taking place on GLENTROOL FIELD, where you'll find activities, entertainment, food, and information stalls. Our newly refurbished CABIN on DUNLOP ROAD, will also have some activity happening. Our lovely friends at the YMCA will be open too as a quiet zone and for slot car racing too. Their cafe will also be serving soup and sandwiches.

Is it free? 💸

The Gala is, and always will be, free to attend. While the majority of our activities, stalls, and entertainment are free to take part in, some do come at a cost - these are highlighted in a post below with (£) next to them. The food vendors who are coming along will set their own prices, so if you want to keep costs low, feel free to bring a picnic and a blanket along with you.

Is there parking? 🚘

Parking is available at the YMCA. We ask that people don't park on the field, or block roads around the fields, as we have emergency services attending who require a clear exit should there be an emergency. The number 10 bus from Burns Statue can also bring you into Lochside if you don't drive but want to attend - we recommend getting off at the YMCA (old Lochside Primary School), and cutting across the path across the street.

Is there toilets? 🚻

The YMCA will be open for anyone who needs to use the toilet. If you have accessibility needs or a wee one who just can't hold it, you're welcome to pop into the Cabin too.

Do you need a hand? 🛠

We have a group of volunteers who are coming along to help the LIFT team get set up on Saturday morning, but struggling for people to help at the end of the event. If want to lend a hand in the morning or after the event is finished, please get in touch with us through messenger.

We are delighted to announce we will also be having at our Activity Day:

Kingdom Of Creatures will be coming along with some reptiles for you to meet and hold, balloon modelling and magic from 1.30pm! 🐍🪄
