A fabulous meeting with my book graphic designer Lucy of who totally gets 8d Press and what we're about. She worked on LUCENT for us. Now, with ALONE, JOURNEYS INSIDE THE SOLO LIFE, nearing completion, she's going to work her magic on this amazing book filled with the stories of EIGHT TALENTED SCOTTISH WRITERS, a promised FOREWORD by stellar Scottish Crime Writer Val McDermid and a promised INTRODUCTION by Chris Creegan, Chair of SAMH, Scotland’s national mental health charity.

We're screaming from the rooftops of our beloved office in .

A world-famous Scottish novelist - beyond famous - so loved, so globally famous - has agreed with much enthusiasm to write the FOREWORD to our next book - ALONE - JOURNEYS INSIDE THE SOLO LIFE.

We love her, took a chance and wrote to her publishing company to ask her and SHE HAS AGREED!!

I will NOT name her until just before book launch day, but needless to say she will be invited to the launch of this amazing anthology.

Scotland is the most amazing country. We support each other and want to see each other succeed. We're THRILLED and I know the eight amazingly talented authors in our anthology will be too.

A chocolate wrapper. This little Union Jack flag fills me with strange emotion; love, hate, fear, loathing, nostalgia, childhood anxiety, disloyalty, weird watered-down pride, belonging, historic loathing. Oh well, as a writer I think WAY TOO MUCH!!! The milk chocolate this weird flag covered was nice too. Unwrapped, in the mouth, in the bin.

Have asked a world-famous Scottish novelist to write a foreword for ALONE, jouneys inside the solo life. I love her and her work, so she was my first choice.

I hope she is up for it as we would really like to have her input. Fingers crossed. Will update on the response and if yes, we will be able to name her.

The cover is FINAL. Thanks to my awesome Art Director for all his input. I spent five hours yesterday typesetting. It's gonna be a beautiful book.
