I’d like to say a few things about bread and starters. I went to school for this business, but I don't think bread and starters are things you can really learn in school. After all, how much of what we learn in school do we actually use in our daily lives? Life is the real school, and schools are just a part of it. Anyway..

Breads and yeasts are on their own journey. They have time and no rush at all.. they like to wait and as they wait, they become more beautiful sometimes it doesn't work out.. So, this journey is not a 4-minute Youtube video. Sometimes, the result is a big disappointment. Sometimes, it feels like a miracle.

The most important thing is to maintain the determination and love that comes from within 🥰 It's a matter of the heart. If you have a desire in your heart, no matter what it is about, don't give up. If it doesn't happen today, it will definitely happen tomorrow 🤗

My new market days are becoming clear. I am eagerly awaiting your orders with love 🫶

Time for baking gingerbread cookies 🧡

Christmas holiday is coming.. So I think the best activity and present is baked gingerbread cookies 🎁🥰

The smell of home-baked gingerbread cookies is so delicious. I hope you will try and like it🎄

I n g r e d i e n t s:
* 125 gram unsalted butter (**room temperature!)
* 175 gram brown sugar,
* 1 egg,
* 40 gram honey & syrup,
* 350 gram flour,
* 1 teaspoon sweet cinnamon,
* 1/2 tablespoon ground ginger,
* 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg,
* 1 teaspoon baking powder,
* A pinch of salt.

I n s t r u c t i o n s :

* Start whisking the sugar and butter, add the egg and continue whisking.
* Keep whisking by adding the honey or syrup.
* Add all dry ingredients to the mixture, mixed the dough at low speed. You can finally gather the dough with your hand.
* If your dough is hard to come together, you can add a few tablespoons of room temperature water.
* Let the dough rest in the refrigerator minimum 30 minutes.
* Flour your dough roller and your workbench. If you wish, you can also open it between two baking paper.
* Cut the dough’s and place it on the baking tray.
* Bake in a preheated 175 degree, maximum 15 minutes.
* Enjoy 🎄

** STALLHOLDER HIGHLIGHTS – SUNDAY 4th DECEMBER**

Our Christmas Market is nearly here. It is, of course, our biggest market of the year. With over 100 stalls booked to attend there really will be something for everyone. We will be posting throughout the week to introduce some of our fantastic stall holders. Please do come and support them. Shop small and support local business this Christmas.

Market stalls are located:
Under the arches on the High Street
In the grounds of St Mary’s Church
Inside the Church Hall
Inside St Mary’s Church
On St Mary’s Square

Santa has interrupted his busy schedule to be at the market – look out for him and his sleigh!

Our resident DJ Pete Braithwaite will be playing his usual mix of music alongside our hot food traders on the square and of course, many of the coffee shops and businesses up and down the High Street will be open on the day too. We will also have stalls, music and refreshments inside the Church this month.
Toilet facilities are available inside the Church Hall and on St Mary’s Square. Parking can be found at the Marchmont Arms end of the High Street or in Gadebridge Park (just a 2 minute stroll from the market ground – look up and head for the Church Spire – you can’t miss it!)

Although vehicle access along the High Street is restricted by Dacorum Borough Council, please don’t let that put you off.

A ready-to-go batch of chocolate chip cookie and chocolate cookie dough to bake at home 🏠

Simply slice and bake for oven-fresh cookies without leaving the house. 🍪

Bake in a preheated, 180 degree oven for 15 minutes and wait for them to cool.
