Hello from a Spring Wreath and me! A sneak peek at my first ever spring wreath, made with a willow base, twine, and adorned with primroses, violas and muscari, and hand gathered lichen-coveted twigs, Hazel catkins, berried ivy, moss and p***y willow.

I also wanted to say hi to all my followers, especially new ones who maybe don't know the face behind the flowers! Thank you for following my flower journey.

My name is Laura, I'm a creative lover of all things wild and flowery, and so chose to start my little business last year selling my jam Jars and bouquets of locally grown flowers in Durham. I'm here while I study Psychology and Education at Durham Uni - some might say it was a mad idea to try growing flowers on top of that! But I couldn't resist. My partner and I have been living in a caravan on some rented land by the river Browney, testing out our dream of living off grid. So, with plenty of field begging to have flowers in it, what better idea than to start a little flower farm. Last year was a steep flower filled learning curve, but I was blown away by people's reaction to the flowers I grew, and arrangements I made. I feel so grateful to every one of you who bought a jam jar, a bouquet, a wreath, or liked and commented on my posts.

Sadly as you all know, we've had to leave our rented land, and will be in Lanchester over spring and summer. Thus, flowers won't be the top of my priority list this season, though we do have an allotment so I will still grow some!

That's it for now - just thought I'd share a little about me!

PLOT TWIST: read on for details!

Dear followers, ESPECIALLY those of you in the Durham area, and those who bought my blooms or wreaths last season, I have news.

Not the happiest news: Sadly I have been asked to vacate the land where I have been growing my flowers. This has come as a big shock, as my arrangement with the owners was still good for the coming season. Not at all their fault, just a change in circumstances.

This is one of the reasons I have been a little quiet over the last month or so, and many apologies if I have not responded to messages.

I have taken the decision, with the loss of this lovely plot, to put my flowers a little on hold this season. I have found an allotment to grow on, but it's small, and to top it off I am in my final year at University so I think it's a sign I need to focus on that!

I will still be growing a few flowers for my own enjoyment, and maaaaayybee to sell a few Jam Jars, so I hope you all follow along on this bumpy ride and enjoy this next phase of Bee Wild Flowers: a bit of a fallow season while I regroup.

I will still be posting photos of my growing journey, the blooms I love, and the arrangements I make. I LOVE flowers, and my little business, and hope that this quiet season can give me the space, time and inspiration for the next step.

To all of you who follow me THANK YOU!

I will be posting more over the next week to introduce myself again to my new followers, and to celebrate this lovely plot we are leaving behind.

Inspired by the idea of putting out some colour this Monday, on the day thats meant to be here is me in the sweet summer sunshine with a colourful riot of sweet peas. Swipe ➡️ for a delighted gremlin face of pure mischievous joy!! 🤣☺

I've been a bit absent from insta the past couple of weeks, busy with the beginning of my last half a year at Uni (have I mentioned I'm doing a degree as well as growing flowers?!)

I hope all you delightful followers are doing well yourselves, and that you enjoy this little glimpse of what the changing seasons will bring us back round to in due course.

May your winter continue peacefully, and all the seeds you sow come to fruition as the year turns towards the sun 🌞

My top nine posts from this past year.. and what a year its been! Thank you to everyone who has followed my burgeoning flower business journey. To everyone who has bought a jam jar bouquet, or wreath, or liked, commented or shared my posts. It brings me joy that my flowers have reached so many people in whatever form.

Even with the way the world is at the moment and the uncertainty, and personally my own struggle with my mental wellbeing and the pressures of university, Bee Wild Flowers has given me such joy, satisfaction and a channel for my creativity.

I've discovered I LOVE flowers even more than I thought, and hope to grow my own experience so I can share their beauty far and wide!

Here's to the year gone past, and to the year ahead!

Happy New Year everyone ✨

A small Wild Luxury wreath off to a customer today. I enjoyed making it so much, and am especially delighted with the way the gold/taupe ribbon from complements the dried orange slices.

Making beautiful things out of natural materials makes me so happy. What a lovely way to spend a cold and wintery weekend - working with the different texture foliage with their festive scents, while outside the snow falls.

Not really a wreath person? How about this Christmas Star!

An intricate arrangement of succulents, larch cones and evergreen sprigs amongst moss, on a lovely Larch and Willow twig star shaped frame.

I had such fun making this. The first time I've used succulents in a design, and I think they are adorable!

What do you think?

Message me if you would like to order one (or more!) for your door or indoor festive decor. I can make them any size you would like! (within reason - I think a 6 foot star may be beyond me at the moment. Although.. It actually sounds like an amazing challenge!). So yes, I CAN do any size!

Introducing my Wild Luxury festive wreath! A mix of luscious foliages adorned with berries, cones, orange slices and finished with a trailing ribbon.

This one is a decorated version of my first style of wreath, the Simply Wild, which uses only a variety of gorgeous foliage for a more subtle feel.

Both styles, Simply Wild and Wild Luxury, are available to order in 3 sizes, with delivery and collection from the 26th November.

DM me to order your Wild Wreath!

Choosing a Bee Wild Flowers wreath this Christmas means:

🌲 You get a beautiful, one of a kind wreath
🌲 You can be sure it is made using UK grown foliage
🌲 It is either 100% home compostable OR in the case of the Wild Luxury, can be returned to me to dismantle and compost/recycle
🌲You are supporting a local small business
🌟 Your wreath is made with love and care

I am only making a limited number, as I also have University work to do 😅 So be sure to get in touch to order soon!

My first Christmas wreath of the year! This bountiful natural beauty is my trial door wreath. I'm watching how the different foliage holds up, while busy sourcing some lovely ribbons for the wreaths I hope to sell.

I'm pleased to say this one is 100% home compostable, and I'm hoping to make most of my wreaths that way.

If you would like to preorder a wreath, drop me a message!

Every wreath is going to be a little different, all depending on the foraged, fresh and dried ingredients I gather. Each one unique, natural and lovely.

I made this for a friends birthday gift. I love creating arrangements with different colour palettes as new flowers bloom. Each on is unique, so if anyone in the Durham area would like to order a Jam Jar or Bouquet, you know you will get something special. Dm me to order.

I am IN LOVE with these richer colours which are just arriving in my field. This Jam Jar includes my very first Nigella 'African Bride', my first Rudbeckia 'Sahara', and a rogue Snapdragon that is meant to be Potomac Lavendar, but is defintely crimson! Oh, and the delightful Cosmos Rubenza.

08/08/2021

My first 'proper' order (e.g. not from a friend or relative)!! It was such a joy to put this Jam Jar together, using the best selection of whats growing at the moment. The client specified pinks and purples, so I got to include some of my favourites: stocks, phlox, zinnia, snapdragons, and even a smaller spike of Liatris.
And what a lovely client she was, even inviting me in for tea and biscuits, and asking about all the flowers 😊 It made my day, so THANK YOU!
