In light of the latest weather forecast, we have had to make changes to the schedule for Saturday's festival

❌Craft & Producers' Marquee will be closed for Saturday (will reopen on Sunday)
❌Festive Outdoor Market in Durham Market Place will be closed for Saturday (decision will be made on Saturday regarding Sunday's market)
✅Durham Market Hall will be OPEN on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th
✅CHILDREN'S LANTERN PARADE WILL GO AHEAD

If you have advance tickets for the Marquee for Saturday 7th, they will be valid on Sunday 8th.

The glass in our Tropical house and Orchid unit at the Botanic Garden are being replaced with polycarbonate sheeting for safety reasons. Please note, due to this planned work, the greenhouse will be closed until the work has been completed.

We expect the work to be completed by Friday 18th October.

Today we say farewell to a much loved colleague Elaine!

Elaine has worked in Event Durham for over 11 years as a Customer Relations Agent for both Collingwood and Grey College. She will be missed by everyone in the team and those she has worked with.

She will be starting her new venture at Vets 4 Pets, Morpeth and we wish her all the best in her future career!

Durham University Things To Do Durham Castle and Botanic Garden are taking centre-stage this evening, starring in this week’s episode of Matt Baker’s ‘Travels with Mum and Dad’.

The TV programme sees cameras follow Matt and his parents, as they take a guided tour around the Castle and Norman Chapel, as well as taking in a trip to visit the Botanic Garden and other sights in Durham City.

A great evening tonight in a charity match at Maiden Castle.

Durham University Estates and Facilities Directorate vs Meadowfield MNF in order to raise for a Jessica, a colleagues daughter in our Directorate.

Meadowfield were 3-0 up at half time (with the first goal occurring a miniute into the game due to a costly error at the back by Event Durham's only representative), but fought back in the second half and equalised with pretty much last kick of the game. Final score 3-3. Uni won 8-7 on pens. It had 'Instanbul 2005' sort of style to it.

It was a great turn out for the game and thank you to all our supporters.
