Shout out to for this delightful feature on the Owlpen gardens in winter.

We had to wait a year for the article to see daylight, but it was worth the wait. Photographer was up before the dawn, to wait for the sun to creep over the Cotswold escarpment so he could capture these decisive moments.

Built in 1446, The Cyder Barn is the oldest barn licensed for weddings in the Cotswolds and, we reckon, the most romantic!

Imagine how many souls have celebrated, made traditional cider and wassailed here over the centuries. The fingerprints of history writ large.

The Grist Mill- one of our period houses available for wedding accommodation at Owlpen. We sleep 50 people here in houses and glamping tents, and we only host three-day weddings here at Owlpen, so you can enjoy extended exclusive access to this destination wedding venue.

Happy Christmas! We managed nineteen Manders this year, with nine absentees and one dear addition. Wishing the world good cheer and heartiness this yuletide, and lots of love from the clan x x x x

Fifty years ago there were 11 dairy farms in this valley. Today there are none.

Today let's lift our hats to farmers up and down the country, who have been looking after their family farms often for generations.

Let's take the time buy their food from local shops at a fair rate. Let's laugh with the traffic jams that they create on our highways and byways as they go about their business.

Let's take a moment to reflect on the tightness of their margins, and how precarious their livelihoods can be.

And when we venture out into the woods and fields again, let's not forget that this green and pleasant land which we enjoy in our leisure time is tended, nurtured and loved by often stressed and weary women and men who love it so deeply, that they devote their lives to its service 💚💚💚

It was both an honour and a pleasure to host at Owlpen for The Magic Flute this week. We loved seeing so many friendly faces enjoying picnics in the gardens, and we were blown away by the high standards of every performer. We adore our gardens and grounds here at Owlpen, and every day it is a joy to come to walk so that we can bask in our own little Garden of Eden.

But looking after them takes a lot of work, so we need your help!

Do you know someone in need of a summer job?

Or are you looking for extra hours over the summer?

We are looking for someone to help out in the gardens and grounds of the estate, as we can't do it all ourselves. So much to do, and not enough hands to do it!
