LP Creatives highly anticipated pantomime ‘Beauty and the Beast’ is coming to the Chequer Mead Theatre this Christmas! Join us for an exciting adventure this year…an adventure that will transport us to the French village of ‘Marsh de Mello’, where a love story is waiting to unfold that will tickle your French Fancy! This spectacular show has all the elements you’d expect from a professional pantom
ime and oodles of silliness to boot! The children’s favourite will manifest as the Marvellous Magical Mirror, in a spectacular special effect that will be sure to leave the audience both spell bound and doubled up with mirth as she portrays the Beasts castle companion. The Welsh TV personality has not only appeared in several series of the very popular ‘Let’s Play, but is the voice over artist for several CBeebies programmes as well as being one of the main presenters on the channel that any CBeebies viewer (young and old) will be delighted to see! Producer Lorna Price from LP Creatives said: "Although Rebecca is not there in person it is still a great thrill for fans of Rebecca to see her playing a big part of the show. Rebecca is one of the main driving forces behind the plot – as well as providing a lot of laughter too. "It is an amazing special effect that I’m sure the audience will love – our Magical Mirror is the cheekiest in all of pantoland!
“She is a great contrast to the grumpy Beast up in the castle – being the Beasts only friend and link to the outside world, she has a job on her hands keeping his spirits up – but she gives it her best shot. The breath-taking tale of Beauty and the Beast, which is familiar to all who have seen the Disney film, has all the special features of a traditional pantomime. A highly experienced and professional cast will fill the roles of ‘Dame Do’nut’, ‘Idle Jacque’ and the ‘Baron Biscuit’ leading the way with the laughter, as well of course with ‘Beauty and the ‘Beast’ providing the story of true love and good versus evil. Writer and Director Tom Beard said: "There will be spectacular sets and costumes, fabulous songs and dances - and plenty of slapstick fun. "This will be LP Creatives first year producing pantomime at the theatre and everyone is working hard to make sure that we deliver our premiere production with the magic of Christmas that East Grinstead deserves!"
LP Creatives specialise in family theatre and pantomime and following five sell-out years of pantomimes in Sussex, are proud to join the Chequer Mead Theatre in bringing this amazing show to Sussex Tom Beard adds "This show will be driven by an extremely fun and unique experience - as well as being a spectacular extravaganza for the senses! It is very important for children to come to the theatre – to see something spectacular in real life during the festive season makes everything seem so much bigger and better! This is why it is so important for us to produce big family shows. ‘Beauty and the Beast’ will be a chance for all generations to spend time together at the theatre this Christmas. Not only does this time help strengthen the family bond; it helps to nurture a love of live theatre in the youngest of audience members.
“We promise that everybody will leave with a smile on their face!”
