WE LOVE YOU 🫶🏻

Wowzas…what a crazy day!
We’ve had a packed out tea room all day and we can’t begin to tell you just how grateful we are for all your support, cheerleading and patience.
Today has been all about Valentine’s Day orders including lots of cupcakes delivered for guests to enjoy at the beautiful Caradon House holiday let and lots of lovely moments shared between friends, partners and loved ones, so we wanted to tell you how much we love you too!
Our customers, our friends and our extended Biagio’s family.
We love you, we appreciate you and we’re so grateful for you! Not just today, but the other 364 days of the year too 🫶🏻

Cakes have been restocked, coffee is ready for the morning grind and we can’t wait to see you tomorrow!

Whatever Valentines looks like for you, we hope it’s filled with love and a happy heart.

BREAKFAST IN BED DAY! 🫶🏻

All your breakfast in bed orders are being lovingly made ready for tomorrow mornings Valentine’s Day treats!
Nothing says I love you like a coffee and breakfast in bed.

And with tomorrow being Valentine’s Day, we are getting ready for a day of lots freshly made afternoon tea collections and we’ll have lots of pretty cheesecake pots in the fridge alongside our delicious selection in our cake counter and we can’t wait to see you 🫶🏻

PRICE: £30pp - includes: 2 courses
𝓜𝓪𝓲𝓷 : Chilli con carne or Veggie Bean Chilli topped with cheese and served with rice, a dressed side salad & tortilla chips, ~ 𝓞𝓡~ Chilli con carne or Veggie Bean Chilli topped with cheese and served on a jacket potato, with a dressed side salad & homemade slaw.

SPARE AFTERNOON TEAS!…🫖

So it’s not very often that this happens, but we’ve had a no show for afternoon tea for 4 people today…🫣
Which means…I’ve got TWO boxes of afternoon tea for two going spare.
Our takeaway afternoon tea for 2 boxes are usually £38 a box, but these two will be reduced to £28 a box of anyone wants them for a weekend treat.
Collection by 2pm or if you’re local, I’m happy to deliver between 2.30pm - 3pm.
Made fresh so suitable to be refrigerated.

Each box includes:
A selection of finger sandwiches
Scotch eggs
Pork pies
Quiche
Cake selection
Fruit scones, cream & jam
Fresh fruits
Napkins

ADVANCE EARLY CLOSURE NOTICE

Last week we were given the terribly sad news that one of our customers, Martin, had sadly passed away.
Martin wasn’t just a customer though. He very much became part of the Biagio’s family.
He would regularly visit with his lovely daughter, Jane, and often on his way to appointments he would pop in for a coffee, cake and a hug.
From the first time I met him, I knew he’d hold a part of my heart forever and he really did do just that.
I loved listening to his stories, hearing about his holidays and his love of a glass, or bottle, of good wine.
Martin was witty, funny, charming and kind and he had the most cheeky smile and personality.
We were honoured to host his last birthday with his loved ones at the tea room in April and I feel so grateful to have had the chance to sit with him and hold his hand for a while on his last visit with his Daughter in December.
Martin, we’re going to miss you and your charming ways so dearly.

So this is just a little heads up that on Tuesday 18th February we will be closing at 1.30pm to allow us to look after and cater for Martin’s nearest and dearest following his funeral.
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this early closure may cause on this day, but we hope you understand.

LOVE AT FIRST BITE! 🫶🏻

It’s the month of love and all things that make your heart happy…so we have a NEW CAKE in the counter that really is love at first bite!
Our Marc De Champagne Truffle cake is a rich chocolate fudge sponge, topped with a boozy and fruity Marc De champagne infused frosting, lovingly finished off with freeze dried strawberries and rose petals.

This will be in the counter up until Valentine’s Day, whilst stocks last…

Don’t forget we’re open from 10am - 4pm today and 10am - 2pm Friday & Saturday.

WELL HELLO THERE FEBRUARY! 👋🏻

Well…that was one seriously jam packed little Saturday at Biagio’s and with a brand new month ahead of us we loved kicking off February with a buzzing atmosphere from the moment we opened right up until the moment we closed.
If you visited today, thank you so much for your patience whilst you waited for tables and we hope you got a slice of your favourite cake before we had another cake counter sell out.

Alongside seeing your beautiful faces and lots of tables celebrating birthdays with us, we also had the pleasure of catering for a 40th birthday with our takeaway Afternoon tea boxes, the perfect feast when you’re forty and fabulous!
Happy birthday to all those who celebrated with us today and thank you, as always, to all of you for choosing us 🫶🏻

Happy weekend’ing and we can’t wait to see you on Monday already.

MEET WATSON 🐾

You know we love it when your doggies visit us too, but it’s not often we get a giant cuddly Leonberger bigger than you to fuss over!
Watson regularly visits with his little bro and their super lovely humans and I always get so excited to see them and today was no exception.

So next time you’re on a dog walk, don’t forget to pop in for a coffee and a doggy chino, small, medium, large and extra large dogs loved and fussed equally 😂🫶🏻🐾

SIPPING JANUARY AWAY ☕️

The sun is shining, the last 48hrs of January is upon us and I’m over here sipping away the hours with coffee!
It may still be chilly but our fire is on and I can feel spring in my step!
We’re open until 4pm today with fresh coffee beans to grind and a cake counter full of the delicious stuff!

CAN I TELL YOU A SECRET…

Over the last few years, we have been asked a million times over for cupcakes and celebration cakes.
Now the thing is, I can cook, I can bake and I can decorate till my hearts content…but I’ve always struggled with icing cakes, like proper celebration cakes. My crumb coat is on point but my smoothing skills on the top layer not so much and my piping skills in the past have been questionable.
Over the past few weeks I have spent HOURSSSSSS practicing, learning and practicing again. I can’t tell you how many cakes I’ve baked, iced, and subsequently eaten in my attempts to master the skill.
Now, I’m not entirely satisfied with my celebration cake icing skills just yet, but I’m working on it.

BUT…our classic cupcakes are here and available to order NOW.
Available in a box of 6 or 12.

Choose from our classic vanilla, chocolate or red velvet cupcake with our classic vanilla frosting and decorated to any colour theme.

As my skill in icing and piping grows, so will our offerings, so keep an eye out for news on upcoming bakes!

But for now…I have 2 boxes of vanilla cupcakes topped with a vanilla buttercream rose swirl, freeze dried strawberries and a gold dusting available for collection at a discounted price of £15 per box. First come first served.

PRETTY PISTACHIO 🫶🏻

We have a NEW cake in the counter today…
Raspberry & Pistachio.
A delicate sponge with raspberries, smothered in a creamy, dreamy pistachio-creme-infused frosting and sprinkled with pistachio and freeze dried raspberry crumbles.
Oh…and it’s vegan…
A bold statement, but possibly the best plant based cake you’ll ever have!

FRIDAY BUNS!

We know you love our classic cinnamon sticky buns so we thought we’d try a new sticky bun in the cake counter for you today…
Banana, Caramel & Pecan!
They’re large, they’re sticky and they’re blinking delicious.

We’re open from 10am - 2pm today, so escape the wind and rain and come and have a bun and a coffee with us 🫶🏻

AND BREATHE…✌🏻

Well…it’s been a bit of a wild week here at Biagio’s.
We were fully prepared for a quiet month.
But it turns out you love coming to us as much as we love welcoming you, and that includes January too!
We never take anything for granted and we are always so elated to see you when you come in, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts for continuing to support us and for braving the cold temperatures to allow us to continue to do our ‘thang!’.

Today was a record breaking breakfast sell out.
Bacon baps, sausage baps and breakfast wraps were today’s top sellers leaving us with a complete sell out, closely followed by panini’s, Chilli Con Carne, jacket potatoes and of course our cake…the pretty little cake counter looked very sorry for itself by the end of the day with just a single slice left…and yes, I ate it and washed it down with a coffee before tackling the clean down and restock.

With a fresh load of deliciousness incoming…our doors will be back open at 10am on Monday and we can’t wait to see you!

SAY NO TO JANUARY BLUES! ☕️

January always feels like a bit of a ‘blah’ month doesn’t it, the comedown after Christmas, it’s chilly, damp, the days feel long and you’ve probably, if you’re anything like me, already broken your New Year’s resolutions 😅, but there’s no time for January blues…because I’m here to remind you that after winter comes the spring and better, sunnier & brighter days are coming…
But in the meantime, if you’re in a bit of a January funk, come see us! The fire will keep you warm, the coffee is hot and the longer the days, the more time to enjoy the Biagio’s atmosphere and a bite to eat with us.
That’s always guaranteed to cheer you up!
We’re super grateful and feel so lucky to still be very busy, so we do recommend booking a table where possible.

Don’t forget.:.if you’re in a rush, our whole menu, including Sandwiches, baguettes, jacket potatoes, our specials and of course our cakes and coffees, are all available to take away too!
