Thank you so much to everyone for sharing the video! Your support means a lot and helps all the hard work reach more people.
Some of you have asked about the process behind it. This is the second script I wrote for the song. I needed more funding for the story-based first idea, which involved acting. Instead, I focused on creating a visually appealing option: a human visualizer, with different performers matching the beat. I knew I wanted a slow-motion effect from the start, but I didn’t want it to *feel* slow. To achieve this, I created a version of the song sped up by 10.45%, which is what they followed during filming. I might play this version at a rave for fun. Marina used a 60fps camera to capture as many frames (details) as possible, and then we slowed the footage down to match the original track.
I had some choreography and moves planned for them, which I was doing from behind the camera—pulling strings from the sky and the ground, doing different jumps, spinning, and imagining the backward motions in my head—but the result beat it by far. What made it special was the energy and individuality of all the folk you see in the video. In some cases, their movements were so on point that I hardly had to suggest any; it was exactly what the video needed.
When you see the cool over-the-shoulder shots spinning and closing up, it’s not zoom, but Marina running up close and back, all while staying in focus. This is difficult to do well if you don't know how, and tiring as f**k, so bravo once more for her and everyone else involved 👏
I'll leave you with some postcards from the video (link in bio) 🐅
