【POST SHARE】 requested by The Consulate General of Japan in Edinburgh

Japanese Film Festival2025を開催します！
Our Japanese Film festival is returning to Edinburgh for 2025!

2025年2月〜3月にかけて、今年はスターリング大学で1回、エディンバラ大学で2回の計3回にわたり日本の映画を上映いたします。いずれも日本語で英語の字幕がつきます。
上映前には日本文化について講演を行い、公演後には簡単なレセプション（お寿司、日本酒含む）を行います。
This year we are screening three films in February and March, one in Stirling University and two in Edinburgh University.
There will be a short presentation before each screening, and after the film we will hold a small reception with light refreshments and some Sushi and Sake

We were lucky to have nice weather on Sunday, i.e. no rain, no storm, and had a lot of fun together😊 Nearly 250 people visited our event Autumn Japan Sakura at Lauriston castle.

Japan Fringe Event & Lectures and Demostrations about sports that connect Japan and Scotland celebrating Paris 2024 Olympics.

This year's 2024 Fringe Japan event is co-hosted by the University of Edinburgh and the Consultate General of Japan Edinburgh. As well as our Edinburgh Festival Fringe event that will introduce participating artists and performers, there will be lectures and demonstrations about sports that connect Japan and Scotland. The Paris Olympics is also currently taking place.

A performance by Japanese violinists Tatsuya Yamauchi (山内達哉), co-hosted by the University of Edinburgh and the Consulate General of Japan Edinburgh.
Tatsuya Yamauchi is a musician from Miyazaki prefecture whose compositions are said to speak to the soul. He has produced multiple events such as Nagasaki Ojika Music Festival, Miyazaki Miyakonojo Shimazu Music Festival & ASAGO Art Music Festival. He has also participated in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, as well as concerts sponsored by Japanese Embassy/Consulate branches around the world.
