I know it’s only a week since we were in minus temperatures but, dare I say it, almost feels like spring. The flowers certainly think so! This week we’ve had tulips, ranunculus and my favourite delicately scented narcissi in the shop. Spring flowers are so bright and cheerful 🌸

December to March are always crazy months for florists - we have Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day all falling within 3 months.

It might only be 2 weeks since Christmas, but already we’re planning our Valentine’s range and ordering our roses. Actually, I got the first email about ordering Valentine’s Day roses before 2024 had even ended.

Happy new year friends! I hope everyone celebrated in style and that 2025 brings all the love, luck, health and happiness along with it.

We’re back in the swing of things and open as usual. We started off Saturday with this bright and cheerful bouquet - I think everyone needs a bit of that in their lives on a freezing cold, dull weekend.

After a couple of days rest and relaxation, we were back on Friday to create a bridal bouquet for Sonia’s wintery wedding. Beautiful avalanche roses were the stars of the show, complemented by thistles and plenty of lush foliage. What a beauty!

Our shop is open Monday 30th and Tuesday 31st December as normal, before we close for a couple of days for New Year. Why not pop in to get some flowers to decorate your house?

Phew, what a week it has been! Thank you to every single customer/follower/friend who has supported us in the run up to Christmas. We are off to enjoy our festivities and the shop will reopen at 9am on Saturday 28th December.

We had an early start today to get our friends at ready for their Christmas event tonight. The brand is passionate about sustainability so asked for a real Christmas tree decorated entirely with natural materials. We also made garlands to decorate their shelves and bouquets for their display tables. What a lovely start to a Friday! 🎄

First day back from holiday and straight into our final wreath workshop of 2024 🎄

We have a lovely week ahead. Pam and I have an early start tomorrow morning to decorate one of our client’s stores for Christmas, lots of Christmas flowers arriving this weekend ready for deliveries next week as well as preparation for one of last weddings of the year.

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is only two weeks away. Our Christmas wreaths are still selling like hot cakes but now we’re starting to see people ordering festive flowers as well 🎄

I love this understated bouquet, full of Christmas foliage as well as ilex berries, thistles and pine cones. It would look perfect decorating a table or mantelpiece. Treat yourself!

Our Christmas wreaths are flying out of the door as quickly as we can make them 🎄

So far this year our colourful wreath is by far the most popular. It’s full of pink pepperberries, dried oranges, limonium as well as lotus heads and pine cones. It makes us smile every time.

Before we launch into full on Christmas (it’s coming!), I wanted to share this autumnal pedestal arrangement that we made for the graduations last week.

It’s completely free of floral foam, making it a more sustainable option. After we took it down, we took the flowers to .columbas.hospice so that they could be enjoyed for longer. It’s always a pleasure to work with other local businesses 🍂

We are knee deep in Nobilis fir this week - Christmas wreath making is in full swing!

We make every wreath by hand from scratch. We use moss for the base, cover that with Nobilis, cupressus, eucalyptus and then decorate it however you’d like - dried fruit, berries, baubles, pinecones, cinnamon sticks, lotus heads, peacock feathers, pepperberries - there are a lot of options!

What a joy to make this bridal bouquet for Kirsty’s wedding this weekend. I like to think of this one as moody autumn with the first hints of spring - look at those Brownie tulips and the white ranunculus 😍
