Someone sent me this photo of my beloved Granddad standing outside of his butchers shop which he had for more than 30 years in the Grassmarket in Edinburgh. (It’s now Mary’s Milk Bar!)

I thought it was funny timing as we had storm Bert snowing on Broughton Street most of the day yesterday and my Grandad’s name was Bert too. He was a big inspiration to me opening my shop, so maybe he was just checking in to see how it’s all going 🌸🥓 I can only hope Broughton Street Flowers will still be going strong in 30 years time! Miss you Bertie xx

The result of our children’s Halloween art competition are in ✨🎨

A big thank you to everyone who entered. Our expert judging panel (me, Jenny and Ciera 😎) had a tough time deciding upon the winner… But we chose Lyra’s entry because we all loved her creativity- especially the tie she added to one of her monsters. So clever and inventive.

Special mention goes to Elio who just did whatever he wanted/ignored the entry form and drew his own monster. Like a true artiste !🧑‍🎨

We’ve made an exhibition of the best entries in the shop window for a few days, come take a look and feel inspired if you’re passing by.

Jan gave us a sample jar which we’ve been eating on toast for elevensies this week, and I can tell you it’s the best honey I’ve ever had 🐝

We’ve got a few jars in store and it’s also on our online shop. I think this would be a lovely little add on to your bouquet order 💛.

… This is me at the end of my first weekend at the shop (sunglasses on so you can’t see how tired I am haha). Later this week I’ll share a few more pictures of before and after we opened because it was quite the transformation 🔨
