It's been super quiet at Prevention HQ whilst I'm working on plans and background admin for the next couple of events. There's news upcoming this week!

However check out these beautiful fur babies we met yesterday at Lothian Cat Rescue's open day.

Lothian Cat Rescue is a NO-KILL shelter and registered charity which helps abandoned, ill-treated and unwanted cats & kittens. They successfully rehome around 1,000 cats and kittens each year and this is their main priority.

And that's that! I made the final donation today to R**eCrisis Scotland. The total raised is now £941.09! What an incredible amount. Quite lost for words.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who donated, attended the event, supported virtually and IRL and shared. Preventionfest 2024 at Bannermans Bar on the 8th of March was a success in so many ways. I'm so proud to know so many awesome people who want to make a big difference. ❤️

Let's keep raising each other up and pushing for change. Watch this space for more charity related news soon. Big love!

Hooooooly s**t what a night! I'm rather 🫠🥴 today. I'm so humbled by the response received last night from everyone. And so happy to share that we raised a total of.... £826 for R**eCrisis Scotland!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘

Earl Of Hell ...wowwww what a band. To fill in at the last moment with a peak performance.
Dál Riata tearing it up and yet again getting me emotional... 💜

To my other half (who I can't tag for some reason...) for being my rock and supporting me whilst I pushed for this to go ahead, even after every mishap came at me!

And most importantly to each and every person who supported by donating or attending. Without y'all we would not have made such an incredible amount.

This cause is so close to my heart and to do this on International Women's Day is incrediblely emotional. Thank you.

When I decided to put together Preventionfest this time last year it was to help raise awareness of situations to support survivors and promote safe, active bystanding.

The idea was to bring together our community. For bands to contribute and to try and ensure there is a place where all women feel safe whilst attending gigs. All this whilst raising funds for organisations that are close to my heart. Those that will have seen initial posters will be aware what these causes were. For more than a year I've worked on arranging this event, so I am devastated to share this.

Due to circumstances that I cannot disclose within the public domain and at the request of the organisation, I have to sadly withdraw their logo and connection with this event. I will continue to support them, but this will be done via my private channels. This includes donating a sum of my own personal money. I encourage folk to continue to support them seperately.

It breaks my heart that an event which is supposed to bring us all together and support very serious issues has had to be amended like this at the last minute. And I am deeply sorry. The last 48 hours have been incredibly emotional. I continue to send love to those affected by these situations.

Please still come and support the event as all proceeds will still be donated to the other charity in full.

Due to the recent statements made by individuals within our music community I wish to share some supportive words across the board.
We stand by survivors who experience such behaviour deemed immoral, inappropriate and most importantly illegal.
As an advocate wishing to raise awareness it's impossible not to do this.
These situations can escalate to a point where they are taken into the hands of the law, by which we must allow this course of justice to take place. I personally send out love to those affected. I will continue to make sure these situations are handled in the safest way possible with the legality of all situations taken into account.

Shockingly I need to make this very clear. Prevention charity events will refuse to acknowledge or accept any anti-trans/TERF language or propaganda. It is inappropriate and will not be tolerated. Hate speech of any kind is not welcome in the extreme music communities and never will be.

We stand for intersectional feminism which is inclusive of anyone who identifies as a woman or presents as a woman. This is also not limited to those who identify as non-binary, trans etc. We need allies, not hate and exclusion.
