Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that producing excellent and leading-edge food and drink experiences should not come at a cost to the environment.

Hickory Venues | Gilmerton House 🌳💫
Gilmerton House, located on Edinburgh’s doorstep and within easy reach of East Lothian’s stunning beaches is a luxurious exclusive use venue for weddings, private stays and corporate events.

The main house with log fires and walls adorned with family portraits offers beautiful accommodation with ten en-suite bedrooms a private dining room, a music room and six reception rooms.

Onsite activities include clay pigeon shooting, falconry, archery and foraging walks where you can explore the picturesque gardens. There is also a Lodge which can sleep an additional six guests and if that isn't enough… a full-size snooker table in the Billiard room will keep your guests entertained.

A perfect venue for private parties and events, The Laundry House has been meticulously restored into a space that can accommodate up to 100 seated guests. Available either alongside or independently from the main house, this historic space encompasses a spacious main room with a beamed roof, a flagstone tiled floor, and a beautiful outdoor terrace.

In addition, during the month of August, Gilmerton House has a new offering; ‘Rooms By Gilmerton House’ offering guests the opportunity to stay in one of the houses’ elegantly appointed bedrooms.

Partnering with brilliant brands, especially those that share our core values of Bold, Genuine and Excellence is a great way for our teams to discover new food and drink producers which makes brand collaborations all the more fun and successful.

One of our current partnerships is with Edinburgh Whisky, a family owned business who specialise in maturing and bottling only the most distinguished of drams. You may have seen us at the Royal Highland Show or more recently at the Genesis Scottish Open where Hickory poured Edinburgh Whisky to the delight of many customers.

We've got new neighbours at Eskmills...🥖🍞🥐
We’re thrilled that one of our favourite suppliers, Company Bakery who provide delicious breads and pastries to Hickory and many restaurants and hotels across the country have moved to their new premises at Eskmills Business Park just next to Hickory’s main production unit.

This is brilliant news for us, helping reduce our food miles even further! 🚚 =🚶🏻‍♂️= 🙌🏻

Company Bakery was founded in 2017 by four friends who shared the view that they could not source quality bread products they needed for their respective businesses. The owners include Amy and Duncan Findlater of Smith & Gertrude wine bars in Stockbridge and Portobello; chef Ben Reade, formerly of the Edinburgh Food Studio; and Hollie Love Reid, owner of Nice Times Bakery in Morrison Street and Lovecrumbs in West Port.

As the year ends, we wanted to take a moment to say thanks to all of our clients, customers, and venues we’ve worked with over the course of 2022. Your support and collaboration throughout the year has meant so much to us, and we are truly grateful for the opportunity to work with such great businesses over the past 12 months. This year, we have created more than 700 events in over 115 venues across Scotland and the North of England. We developed new partnerships with wonderful venues, opened our first retail and café premises with Dovecot Studios Café, and expanded to England with The Riverside Food & Drink at The Sands Centre. We’ve held grand dinners to intimate private wedding receptions and we are proud of the hard work and dedication that our team put into each event.
