Our Story
An 18th century ball room and function suite located above the Pear Tree, famous bar restaurant and garden.
Built in 1749 in what is now known as Edinburgh's old town it has been the host and home to many a Scottish dignitary such as Robert Burns and Thomas Blacklock in the 18th century. More recently in the 19th century the Usher family owned the property and were famed for their ales and blended whisky. Andrew Usher added to the property by building the counting house (as it is known now) with its ballroom complete with glass dome and chandeliers.
The Counting House offers a unique private event space in the city centre. For more information and to book please visit our website at www.countinghouseedinburgh.co.uk
