Anna & Duncan / Hopetoun House / 12.04.25

The sun was shining. A Bentley pulled up the gravel drive. And inside one of Scotland’s grandest stately homes, Anna walked down the aisle towards Duncan — full of emotion, both of them just holding it together.

Hopetoun House, with over 300 years of history and a starring role in Outlander, brought all the grandeur — sweeping staircases, baroque interiors, and the opulent ruby red drawing room. It’s bold, baroque, and completely breathtaking.

The perfect backdrop for a day full of joy, tears, and seriously scrumptious dining.

TL;DR: I love this job…

Everything about this shoot felt as easy-going as Khalen & Taylor themselves — a whisky-loving couple from Tennessee, visiting Scotland to scout wedding venues for their big day.

Editing their photos literally gave me chills. It still catches me off guard how much I genuinely love what I do. Every couple brings something totally unique. For these two, it was their effortlessly carefree energy (and not to mention, their fantastic fashion sense).

I find this a lot with international couples, I speculate this is because they are the kind of people that say “F it. let’s get married in Scotland? Yolo”.

I’ve had the chance to meet the kindest humans from 🇺🇸 to 🇸🇬 to 🇬🇧 (all over the globe), and sharing our wee corner of this planet with them never gets old.

Emma & Craig / 07.04.25 / The Scotsman Hotel + Edinburgh City Chambers

For couples dreaming of an elevated yet effortless city celebration, this is how it can look.

Emma & Craig chose to keep things intimate — a wedding party of ten, but every detail considered. The day began at the Scotsman Hotel, sunlight streaming through the windows and views across Edinburgh’s skyline, from Calton Hill to the Balmoral.

Their ceremony at the City Chambers, perfect location for an intimate wedding, with so many options for photos around town afterwards, it’s a winner.

They then headed for refined candlelit dinner back at the Scotsman in one of the private dining rooms — elegant, atmospheric, and highly refined. I recommend this as a potential idea for other couples looking for a city based intimate wedding!

With the sun shining from start to finish, it truly felt like the beginning of spring wedding season is finally here!

A day full of emotion and storytelling moments. A photographers dream. Hats off to the chef for cooking the most delicious paella, what a unique menu.

I had so much fun taking part in workshops lately. Wonderful to hear some new perspectives and keep a pulse on what’s happening in the world of wedding photography.

As well as hearing from all kinds of fantastic speakers, I took part in some practical workshops, this was one was put on by the wonderful based up in Skye.

Although I originally wanted to keep this for my new account, I just couldn’t not post them here. I love this style of cinematic storytelling.

Idea: I can imagine a series of photos like this would work well in a wedding magazine (made by you for your guests), a wedding website or just some cool photos for a creative couple or family who wants the chance to dress up, and make something unique together. .

Wishing you all the happiest Valentine’s day!

Truth be told we threw this photo together in just ten minutes. Sabine had jumped off a call with work and I threw on a shirt and trousers I hadn’t seen since last summer.

This is our first family photo since Hugo joined our clan. Unscripted, mid moment, just us being us. Relaxed vibes.

Jeffrey & Monique! Dream clients. Dream venue. Dream team 🎉 I had a lot of fun with these two. From their pre-wedding session chasing waterfalls to their absolutely gigantic wedding (approaching 200 guests) this was one I will certainly never forget…

I really need to make a second post about the traditional Chinese games. Where Jeffrey had to essentially break into the house and perform tasks to win the bridesmaids approval to marry Monique. Lol this was a hillarious start to the day, full of energy and laughter.

Introducing the insatiable Olly and Lucas!

These two tied the knot on a radiant autumn day at the stunning Cornhill Castle in Scotland.

With Olly rocking a red velvet dinner jacket while Lucas went for traditional Scottish wedding attire. Bridesmaids in sleek black dresses were definitely a vibe. Everyone looked amazing!

Suzanna & Ragan / Toronto ➡ Edinburgh / Sunrise Session

It’s engagement season, so what better time to share some photos from one of my couple sessions? This one was a little different—Suzanna & Ragan officially tied the knot just a few days before in their hometown of Toronto! For their honeymoon, they travelled over to Edinburgh, where we arranged a sunrise shoot.

Sure, it was a bit nippy (it’s Scotland in winter, after all), but the quiet streets made it so worth it. With sunrises as late as 9am at this time of year, it’s perfect for those who aren’t morning people. And the light? Absolutely magical—almost perpetual golden hour with the sunsetting mid afternoon.
