I thought I’d say hello and reintroduce myself since things have been quite ever changing around here recently 👋🏻

So hi! I’m Holly, this page started as a page for my houseplant obsession which grew into a houseplant/lifestyle/flower shop. It has now been six months since I said goodbye to my lovely shop in Portobello, but it was definitely the right decision - my mental health is vastly improved by not being tied to a shop.

However, I have a very exciting life/business update - I have acquired a small plot of land right next to our house to grow flowers, a literal dream come true!

Nothing has ever felt so right or so exciting to me, as someone who is passionate about loads of things and finds it hard to decide where I want my life to go, this finally feels like the thing that will keep my brain satisfied long term and make me very very happy.

I have loads to learn, I obviously know a lot about plants and I love nothing more than gardening but this will be a whole different ball game I’m sure. I can’t wait to get started, I’m planning to use no dig and regenerative methods as much as possible! Combining my biology degree and flower growing 👌🏻

I am now based just outside West Linton in the Scottish Borders and will be selling flowers (not home grown - yet!!!), to help me pay for starting off the flower field, so check out my website for local deliveries, and get in touch if you’re slightly further afield! I’m hoping to get some Christmas wreath workshops scheduled too because they were always my favourite at the shop.

P.s. I’ll be back at Porty market, hopefully every month - selling flowers, as of September 7th 🤍🤍🤍

P.p.s. I am still doing photography but want to use this Instagram primarily for flowers because that fits the audience I have already grown here.

Hi 👋🏻

It’s been 5 months since I closed the shop in Portobello and I’m missing the creativity and the flowers 🌸

So, myself and my partner Simon will be selling flowers and some other pretty things at Peebles farmers market on the 3rd of August, and hopefully more to follow 🥰

Would love to see some friendly faces 🤍

I’ll be sharing bits and bobs of the markets and also my garden on here - which I hope will supply a few home grown flowers next year 🙏🏻

Just wanted to share some memories from the 3.5 years of Holly Grows 🫶🏻🌿

From markets in West Linton and pop ups at Spoon to the shop in Portobello, there is so much loveliness to look back on 🥲

So many of my happy memories come from the people that I have met along the way. I will always treasure the summers spent in the back garden with my friends. And forever be grateful for meeting my partner who started out as a Holly Grows customer - who totally nailed surprising me with a party at the shop to celebrate a year open 🥰 (peep my reaction in slide 5)

I will never be able to repay you all for supporting me along the way, thank you soooo much for attending workshops, buying plants, buying SO many wreaths, following on social media, coming in to chat - all of it 🫶🏻

From now on I’ll be using this page as a place to share my photography and behind the scenes of my life as a wedding planner with and whatever else comes my way - maybe I’ll do workshops again come Christmas - never say never 😉

Hello! Holly here.

As many of you know, I have been trying to sell the business for a while now. I have now decided to take the business off the market and it is with great sadness that I announce we will be closing our shop in Portobello.

I have absolutely loved having the shop for the past 2 and a half years (!!), it has totally flown by and I have met so many wonderful friends and customers. Being a part of the community in Portobello has been such an honour and I will miss it greatly. Chatting away to you all in the shop and at the workshops has definitely been the highlight of shop ownership.

But it is time for a change and I am ready and excited to see where life takes me next.

Our official closing date will be annouced in due course but it will likely be mid February, or whenever we run out of stock! I will begin discounts this week so keep your eyes peeled on stories for more on that.

Please pop in and say hello as many times as you can squeeze in, and potentially grab a good deal and help me shift some stock whilst you’re in.

As for what’s next for Holly Grows - I am not entirely sure yet, I will keep this instagram of course and potentially continue offering workshops, but first I need some time off to reassess everything and work out what I want to do. I would love for you all to stick around and support whatever comes next!

Just a reminder that the shop is closed today so I can have day off for my birthday!

I’ll be spending the day wandering around the Modern Art Gallery and Portrait Gallery, then going out for lunch, and coming home to do some crafts 🥰🎂
