Had a trip to Art Box Chester so my family could see where my work was being exhibited. It’s a bit mind blowing for me as the standard of work from up and coming artists in Artbox is off the chart. So to have my work amongst theirs is truly an honour.
Check out ArtBox’s website and grab yourself a truly wonderful piece of art from one of these artists. Don’t buy a print of recognised art work, get a genuine one of a kind piece of art.
Not only are they a bargain with the artists not being well known, but you will then own an original one off and not a replica or copy. Then when that artist becomes recognised the value of the art will become much more valuable. So it’s also an investment to.
Buy local art from local artists and help these guys gain recognition for their incredible talent.

I think of myself as an alternate documentary wedding photographer.
I try to avoid the normal cliches and cheesy photos, instead I prefer to capture story telling moments and photos that express the true feelings of your wedding day.
True documentary isn’t staged, it’s focused on taking the photos that in years to come wil help you relive the moments and take your right back to how you felt.
A good photo should reflect the energy and emotion of a moment in a classy, modern artistic fashion that will stand the test of time.
I’m very much a hands off photographer, I live for the moments between the moments, relying on serendipity to take over.
You’re never going to have “that” wonderful moment ever again. All your family and friends together to celebrate such a joyous occasion. So you need to rely on the photographer to capture all these people interacting, every emotion captured and every moment caught to keep forever.

Part 1 of Khadijah and Dillon’s wedding.
All about the stunning bride.
Khadijah looking amazing in her suite at Talhenbont Hall stunning location to match the stunning bride. Colour and black and white.
Black and white photographs back in the 50’s and 60’s was the only photography to be considered art. It was not until many photographers adopted colour that it was later also considered art. Art photography became about composition and not the colour. I agree that colour photography is also art, but sometimes you just can’t beat black and white. It is suggested that we consider black and white more artistic due to it not being what is natural to the human brain when looking at a photo. Either way it’s always nice to look at.

Mondays photography history nugget:
Photographer: Henri Cartier-a reason.
Frenchman Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004), is considered to be the grandfather of photography, especially street photography.
He documented the civil war in China in 1948, the fall of Shanghai to the Communists in 1949, and the Indonesian War of Independence.
In 1954 he became the first Western photographer in seven years to be allowed to shoot inside the Soviet Union, charging LIFE a small fortune for his images through Magnum.
In order to achieve the candid shots for which he became famous, Cartier-Bresson sought to blend in with his surroundings as much as possible. He never used flash, and covered his chrome Leica camera with black tape to make it less conspicuous.
Cartier-Bresson once said of his work, ‘To me, a photograph is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event as well as the precise organisation of forms which give that event its proper expression.’ This idea gave birth to the concept of the ‘decisive moment’, which remains synonymous with Cartier-Bresson.
The decisive moment is now a key term amongst photographers.
He may not have invented street photography, but he was almost certainly the biggest influence on how photographers approach the genre.
The smile, the body language, all tells the true story of the big day.

Playing around with my favourite coffee The Coffee Mod
Finally got a 35mm negative scanner, finally got it calibrated (was close to giving up), and I’m made up with it. Bit of messing around and a bit of a slow process, but it’s sometimes important in life to just slow down and enjoy the process. Processed Photos to follow on the next post.
The power of photoshop (once you know how) can be scary good. This wasn’t what I wanted to do to the photo it was just a test of how far I could stretch the AI, I didn’t reach a limit. Check this test out. Shutterup photography thanks for the advise and tips on using such a powerful tool.
