So today I heard the term “nosegay” 🤔 tbh I hadn’t really heard that in years ! for some if you still will not no what it is or its reference! so an explanation and even though it was established in England it is very rarely referenced too much now days and referred to more in the USA I think . If there are any US florists reading this please let me know in the comment .
Nosegay is a homegrown word—that is, it originated in English. 15th-century Middle English speakers joined nose (which meant then what it does today) with gay (which, at the time, meant “ornament”). That makes nosegay an appropriate term for a bunch of flowers, which is indeed an ornament that appeals to the nose. To me its a small tight Posy !! 🌺🌸🌼💐 💐

Mimosa … 🌼🌼🌼🌼 a flower that stands for sensitivity and safety as well as symbolising prosperity and victory. Representing the sun, it surged in popularity amongst Women’s Rights movements in Russia and Italy in the Second World War and is often associated with International Women’s Day on March 8th. In a world that is facing so many challenges that impact on everyone it seems the perfect flower to welcome a new, hopefully brighter, month. 🌼🌼🌼🌼

We still have spaces available for our “ Special Mothers Day “afternoon Tea and bouquet workshop on Saturday 29th March

Tea and coffee will be served on arrival before you settle down to create a stunning floral design in our signature country-garden style. Expect hands-on guidance and expert tuition to complete your arrangement, and lots of tips and tricks to create your own designs at home. All abilities are welcomed, no experience is necessary.
Design complete, you can relax with afternoon tea and a glass of bubbly to complete the experience. All materials and tools are provided. A wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time with loved ones.
The experience lasts around 2 hours and is priced at £65.00 per person 🌸

Start taking a look at images in weddings magazines, and marking the ones you like, or start a Pinterest board with things that catch your eye. This is very useful information to your florist – don’t feel that you need to choose specific flowers or even designs, but a collection of what you like will help your florist make suggestions and create wedding flowers that are tailored and perfect for your perfect day 🌸
