Almost Spring.
Blackbirds singing from outside the studio
Sweet peas
Tea breaks from the little bench by the wall
Studios full of flowers
Sewing seeds
Cow parsley
Just a few of the things I’m looking forward to.
February is almost over and March will soon be upon us with all the promise of Spring.

As we turned from the road onto the tree lined avenue of Lanwades Hall, it felt like coming back home.
We have Wintered.
Long days under woollen blankets, with mugs of steaming tea in hand.
Flowers have only been something talked about.
This week we dusted off our studio as the first flowers of the 2025 season arrived. The smell of the eucalyptus filled the studio, the velvety softness of the rose petals at our fingertips.
The rest has been welcome, but the need to create can sometimes leave you restless.
Even on a rainy day in February, Lanwades hall invited us in with its roaring fires and smell of coffee wafting from the kitchen.
Life is stirring again in the gardens as the hellebores raise their heads.
Dusky pinks with soft creams and delicate peaches were todays colours.
Small pops of deep mauve with the dancing heads of clematis and Astrantia.
It was soft and delicate like the light of a February morning.
Bud vases for the wedding breakfast, with a display of flowers to decorate the fireplace of the great hall.
Meadow boxes for the Church, later repositioned to the morning room for a moment to cut the cake.
The sound of rain softly hitting the windows, accompanied by the song of laughter making its way from the Bridal suite.
The nervous whispers of the Groomsmen as they fumbled with buttonholes in the library.
A love story at the start of its next chapter.

Wintering.

The days have been slow.
There has been a quietness that I didn’t know was needed. Long walks, warm cups of tea and woollen socks. Slow lunches with friends, learning new skills, trying to perfect old ones.
Writing, painting, knitting, photography, my hands have just been itching to create.
I trudge the cutting garden waiting for signs of life, my breath like little clouds dancing in front of me.
This is the time in between.
Earlier this week I dusted off the studio as the first flowers of the year arrived. Our first wedding of 2025.
And just like that, the season begins again.

What a year.
Sunrises, sunsets, early morning mist and late night starry skies.
Days when it felt like we lived out of our vans.
Carrying buckets, trolly-ing flowers, arches, hoops, bud vases, candles, Granary barns, stately homes.
4am starts and 1am finishes. Coffee, cake and picnics from the van.
Spring flowers, Summer showers, Autumn colours and Wintering skies.
Jammy dodgers, rich tea, custard creams.
Clients that became friends, couples that treated us like family.
Getting to attend so many of your weddings as guests.
More coffee.
Happy tears, sad tears, getting to be a part of your stories.
Signing as we drive, laughing as we work.
Here’s to lifting a glass to it all.
Cheers.
To the moments that forever changed us this year, to the moments that reminded us what it’s all about.
To the couples of the past that still remember us when they have their babies, to the couples of the future and the planning and flower journeys still to come.
To an amazing team, who without non of this would be possible.
To future dreams and new horizons to chase.
Thank you.
Thank you 2024
Thank you for it all

There’s just something magical about a wedding in December.

A sneak peak from our last wedding of the season.
Over the next few weeks as we enjoy a slower pace, we will be revisiting our weddings from this year and sharing them with you. We will also be talking about the venues and the teams behind them and what makes flowering in them so special.
We will include links to our Pinterest inspiration boards and ideas for you to save for those of you in the planning stages for the new season ahead.

So as the long nights bring us inside in front of the fire, join us in looking back over a year with Clemmie and Twine.

Last wedding of the year on a rather stormy Saturday.
Can’t quite believe that’s a wrap for this wedding season.
So much to share with you all, hundreds of pictures left to edit and post, studios to move and proposals still to go out, but the pace is slower and more relaxed as we reflect on what an amazing journey this last year has been.
But for the rest of this stormy Saturday, it’s feet up in front of the fire.

Autumn at Lanwades Hall is really special.
The fires are lit, the smoke curling into the sky from the chimneys as we made our way down the tree lined avenue.
No longer that dazzling pop of green, but now blazing reds and oranges.
The change of season is well and truly upon us.
The pace feels slower, more relaxed after a whirlwind of a Summer.

For Nikita and Nicole, today was about transforming the space with elegant florals in a timeless palette of creams, whites and greens.
Avalanche roses, Bridal flow Spray, delicate wax flower with hellebores and Delphinium. We used flowers with an incredible scent to capture all the senses as guest descended upon the morning room for the ceremony.
Wild and Romantic, in our signature Clemmie style, we created two statement columns and a fireplace adorned with flowers for the ceremony.
For the Wedding breakfast, delicate bud vases with elegant dinner candles.
Nicoles bridal bouquet was a mix of spray and avalanche rose, with butterfly ranunculus and hellebore.
It moved when she moved and had a floral scent that I hope catches on a summer breeze, many years from now, taking her back to this day.
The venue was filled with flowers, laughter and so much love.
May it always be this way.

Arriving at Lanwades Hall in October, as the leaves from the tree lined avenue turn from green to red and brown, truly is a sight to behold.
Autumn has arrived at last, to remind us to stop and look around.
Burnt orange and toffee coloured blooms, lot’s of textural details, with dried elements such as Bracken to give the flowers an Autumnal feel. Butterfly ranunculus in peachy tones, Copper boy Dahlias, steeling the show.
As we flowered in the morning room, the laughter from the bridal suite danced down the stairs. The sky outside the window was that endless blue, the air was crisp.
It was one of those perfect Autumn days, a new season, a new chapter in the story of Hannah and her Chris.

I first met Kate in the great Hall at Lanwades on a rainy day in February.
I don’t know if it was the gingham dress she was wearing or her infectious smile, but after a minute with her I felt like I was talking to a version of myself.
Her vision for the day she married Tom was clear.
Elegant, with personal touches that reflected who they were as a couple.
From the earthenware vases she had collected for the flowers, to the hand embroidered table numbers. Handwritten place names tied with a gingham ribbon.
It was all Kate and Tom.
For the flowers, it was soft creams and whites, small pops of greenery.
Her bouquet had a light and innocent quality to it.
With Japanese anemones and clematis dancing above the garden roses and stocks. Wax flower and astrantia with vibrant green Hellebores. With delicate silk ribbons from The Silk Studio the bouquet had movement and flow. It was designed for Kate, to be an extension of her as she made her way down the aisle.
The ceremony room was decorated with earthenware vases along the fireplace, with a similar flow following on in the Great Hall for the wedding breakfast.
There were many beautiful little touches but nothing was as bright as Kate’s smile, as she married her darling Tom, surrounded by those that love them best.

Driving to Milling Barn for the wedding of Grace and Nicole, storm clouds chased us across Cambridgeshire skies.
The land around us looked almost on fire as the trees gave that beautiful display or reds and oranges that make this time of year so magical.
Grace and Nicole came to us two years ago to ask that we flower for their special day. The last two years of emails, messages and meetings has allowed us to really get to know our couple and their family and we were made to feel such a part of their day.
Autumn colours of burnt oranges, reds, soft peaches and lots of textural details, went into building these florals.
Wild and romantic in style, we created a floral arc and an aisle lined with flowers for the ceremony, with a wedding breakfast dressed in floaty greenery.
Grace and Nicole were kind enough to reserve us seats in their ceremony so that we could watch as they said their vows to one another.
As we sat, we listened as their friends and family told us stories of the couple.
There was so much love in the room. Everyone had something to share. The whole day was like this.
When Grace made her way down the aisle to Nicole, time, as it always does in such moments, stopped.
As they held on to each other, hands shaking slightly, nervous laughs, we got to witness the joining of two people so perfect for one another.
Surrounded by flickering candlelight, with friends and family smiling.
It never get’s old, witnessing such moments.
We are the lucky ones, we get to spend our days being reminded that no matter what life throws at you, there is only Love.

Timeless and elegant.
Green and white is a classic palette when it comes to wedding flowers. It works well in any space and has a crispness about it.
It works especially well against the back drop of where the light just floods into the venue.
The high ceilings and beautiful flint and lime walls are softened by the addition of flowers.

Granary Estates have their open day on Sunday where you can come and look around this beautiful building. We will be there to chat all things floral as you explore this incredible space.
