Autumn at Lanwades Hall is really special.
The fires are lit, the smoke curling into the sky from the chimneys as we made our way down the tree lined avenue.
No longer that dazzling pop of green, but now blazing reds and oranges.
The change of season is well and truly upon us.
The pace feels slower, more relaxed after a whirlwind of a Summer.

For Nikita and Nicole, today was about transforming the space with elegant florals in a timeless palette of creams, whites and greens.
Avalanche roses, Bridal flow Spray, delicate wax flower with hellebores and Delphinium. We used flowers with an incredible scent to capture all the senses as guest descended upon the morning room for the ceremony.
Wild and Romantic, in our signature Clemmie style, we created two statement columns and a fireplace adorned with flowers for the ceremony.
For the Wedding breakfast, delicate bud vases with elegant dinner candles.
Nicoles bridal bouquet was a mix of spray and avalanche rose, with butterfly ranunculus and hellebore.
It moved when she moved and had a floral scent that I hope catches on a summer breeze, many years from now, taking her back to this day.
The venue was filled with flowers, laughter and so much love.
May it always be this way.

Arriving at Lanwades Hall in October, as the leaves from the tree lined avenue turn from green to red and brown, truly is a sight to behold.
Autumn has arrived at last, to remind us to stop and look around.
Burnt orange and toffee coloured blooms, lot’s of textural details, with dried elements such as Bracken to give the flowers an Autumnal feel. Butterfly ranunculus in peachy tones, Copper boy Dahlias, steeling the show.
As we flowered in the morning room, the laughter from the bridal suite danced down the stairs. The sky outside the window was that endless blue, the air was crisp.
It was one of those perfect Autumn days, a new season, a new chapter in the story of Hannah and her Chris.

I first met Kate in the great Hall at Lanwades on a rainy day in February.
I don’t know if it was the gingham dress she was wearing or her infectious smile, but after a minute with her I felt like I was talking to a version of myself.
Her vision for the day she married Tom was clear.
Elegant, with personal touches that reflected who they were as a couple.
From the earthenware vases she had collected for the flowers, to the hand embroidered table numbers. Handwritten place names tied with a gingham ribbon.
It was all Kate and Tom.
For the flowers, it was soft creams and whites, small pops of greenery.
Her bouquet had a light and innocent quality to it.
With Japanese anemones and clematis dancing above the garden roses and stocks. Wax flower and astrantia with vibrant green Hellebores. With delicate silk ribbons from The Silk Studio the bouquet had movement and flow. It was designed for Kate, to be an extension of her as she made her way down the aisle.
The ceremony room was decorated with earthenware vases along the fireplace, with a similar flow following on in the Great Hall for the wedding breakfast.
There were many beautiful little touches but nothing was as bright as Kate’s smile, as she married her darling Tom, surrounded by those that love them best.

Driving to Milling Barn for the wedding of Grace and Nicole, storm clouds chased us across Cambridgeshire skies.
The land around us looked almost on fire as the trees gave that beautiful display or reds and oranges that make this time of year so magical.
Grace and Nicole came to us two years ago to ask that we flower for their special day. The last two years of emails, messages and meetings has allowed us to really get to know our couple and their family and we were made to feel such a part of their day.
Autumn colours of burnt oranges, reds, soft peaches and lots of textural details, went into building these florals.
Wild and romantic in style, we created a floral arc and an aisle lined with flowers for the ceremony, with a wedding breakfast dressed in floaty greenery.
Grace and Nicole were kind enough to reserve us seats in their ceremony so that we could watch as they said their vows to one another.
As we sat, we listened as their friends and family told us stories of the couple.
There was so much love in the room. Everyone had something to share. The whole day was like this.
When Grace made her way down the aisle to Nicole, time, as it always does in such moments, stopped.
As they held on to each other, hands shaking slightly, nervous laughs, we got to witness the joining of two people so perfect for one another.
Surrounded by flickering candlelight, with friends and family smiling.
It never get’s old, witnessing such moments.
We are the lucky ones, we get to spend our days being reminded that no matter what life throws at you, there is only Love.

Timeless and elegant.
Green and white is a classic palette when it comes to wedding flowers. It works well in any space and has a crispness about it.
It works especially well against the back drop of where the light just floods into the venue.
The high ceilings and beautiful flint and lime walls are softened by the addition of flowers.

Granary Estates have their open day on Sunday where you can come and look around this beautiful building. We will be there to chat all things floral as you explore this incredible space.

All of our weddings are special to us.
Each one is unique and today was no exception.
Emma and Tom came to us two years ago, asking that we flower for their special day.
When we said yes, we didn’t realise that in the years that followed, we would be welcomed into a family.
We have shared a journey with them and in return, they have championed us and our work, cheering us on, becoming a part of our story.
Being able to see this wedding unfold was extremely personal to us and we were so honoured to be a small part of this big day.

Bright pinks and oranges and a mass of Disco balls to decorate this space.
Roses, Hydrangeas, dahlias, wax flower and dancing Cosmos, framed with lush green foliage.
Bold, bright and beautiful.

We were invited to attend the ceremony and after an outfit change so quick that even Cher would have been impressed, Tina and I nestled ourselves into the Silo barn, watching as two young people at the start of a whole new chapter in life, came together in front of friends and family to share their Love for one another.
We laughed and we cried and as the couple emerged from the ceremony, arm in arm, into that glorious sunshine, under those endless blue skies, Tina said to me once again
“It really is so much more than flowers.”

Another beautiful wedding this weekend at The Granary Estates in Suffolk.

Autumnal vibes was the brief with Cappuccino and toffee roses, Cornel brons dahlias, scabious, David Austen garden roses and dried elements to give another layer of texture.

There were so many personal touches to the day, Bella’s Grandfather having hand felted little animals for the favours.
Floor meadows to line the aisle, Delicate bud vases and taper candles for the wedding breakfast.
Elegant and timeless against the backdrop of the Granary.

The sky remained blue, the scent of Autumn on the gentle breeze, as Bella and Henry said “I do”

As we woke early to mist blanketing the fens, we remarked how you could feel a change in the air.
A shift in the seasons, as those long glorious days of Summer fade into Autumn.
For Emma and Bobby, a young couple at the start of their new season, the skies remained cloudless, the breeze warm with the scent of flowers all around.
With her Bridesmaids as her something blue, Emma made her way towards her darling Bobby in a beautiful church in Gazeley.
A place and date special to us both, we found something magical being able to create with flowers in a place so dear.
The village made their way out to the church to watch the Bride walk in, arm in arm with her father.
Sitting on the grass of the church yard in groups, laughing, wishing the couple well, remarking on the weather, we felt as though we had been transported back to a time almost forgotten.
Butterflies danced across the grounds with Red Kites flying overhead, calling to one another on the wind.
There was a peace that filled the space, a peace I hope finds Emma and Bobby for all their days.
Late Summer blooms, many of them English grown from a local flower farm, filled the door to the church.
Bright colours was the brief.
Wild and romantic in style.
With blue skies and butterflies overhead Emma and Bobby said “i do”

Another beautiful late Summers day, found us back at the Old Hall Ely, for the wedding of Jess and Liam.

A timeless palette of crisp whites and lush greens to complement this space.
Fragrant stocks, Hydrangea, Avalanche rose, Delphinium and wax flower.
Simple and understated.

Today was one of those perfect Old Hall days.
The weather was warm with a subtle breeze that found its was across the gardens and made the delphiniums look as though they were dancing.
The Swallows darted across the skies overhead and the Cathedral, keeping watch as always, across those endless Fens.
There is a magic about this place, something you can only experience by being there.
Perhaps its the history of such a place.
Maybe the magic is in the whispers of those that came before us, carried on the wind.
Or maybe the magic was in the way that Jess smiled as she made her way towards Liam in the sunken gardens.
Maybe it was in the way that Liam took her hand.
Maybe it was in the smiles of those that love them best, watching as they took vows to one another.
Whatever it was, it’s a magic that stays with you.
A magic that makes you think that just maybe, we really do have the best jobs in the world.

As the afternoon sun bathed the Church in the Suffolk countryside in a cascade of golden light, Katie walked down the aisle, her heart full with love and anticipation, towards her Jacob

The air was fragrant with the aroma of flowers, each bloom selected with care to tell the story of her and Jacob’s journey.
With Friends and family watching on as they said their vows, sharing joy and hope for the future.

As the ceremony began, the sunlight danced around the space, illuminating not just the flowers, but the deep, unwavering love they held for each other. Friends and family watched in awe, feeling the magic of the moment, as Katie and Jacob promised to love one another, always.

As we stepped into the stunning surroundings of The Old Hall, we were greeted with a sign that read “Welcome to our beginning.”
The story of Celine and Reece is one where the chapters are many.
From childhood sweethearts to man and wife, theirs will be a story that spans a lifetime.
A timeless palette of green and white.
Elegant and understated.
When working with our couple, we knew we wanted to incorporate elements that enhanced the softness of the Old Hall, complimenting the surroundings.

A floral arch, adorned with terracotta urns and pots, to complement the many pots and urns of the Old Hall.
Silver birch and beech were used as these are found growing in the grounds.
Delphinium, ammi, Orlaya, Hydrangea and Rose were the flowers used throughout the design.

Today was filled with many moments.
It was here in the sunken garden that time stopped.
In this moment there was nothing but them.
Nothing but the way he looked at her as she walked towards him.
Nothing but her hand reaching for his.
Nothing but the hopes and dreams of two people, truly at the beginning of this next chapter.
And here we are, witnessing it all.
In these moments, we are the keepers of time.
And in a world that can often feel uncertain, we are reminded.
There is only Love.

Peaches, creams, lilacs, pinks and dusky blues. All the soft pastels for Rachel and Mark, who married at the Granary Estates in Wooditton, Suffolk.
Oxypetelum, delphinium, summer scabious, Sahara sensation spray roses, David Austen Juliets and Nigella for the bridal bouquet, with long flowing silk ribbons from the Botanical Dyer.
The aisle was dressed with meadow flowers, later repositioned to the wedding breakfast, where floral centrepieces adorned the tables.
It was a warm day in the Suffolk countryside for Mark and Rachel as they said their vows to one another, surrounded by those that love them best.
The soft sound of laughter and the flowers swaying in that Summer breeze.

Understated elegance.
This was the brief for Angelina when we first spoke.
The couple wanted a timeless look to their day and as always, whites, creams and greens was perfect to achieve this look.
Two soft grey urns on plinths sat at the top of the aisle where the couple would say their vows.
Filled with Hydrangea (an absolute favourite of the Brides) Avalanche roses, Bridal Flow spray roses, fragrant stocks and wax flower.
We lined the row of chairs at the start of the aisle with floor meadows of the same mix.
Designed to be the starting point for the eye to run down the aisle and up to the grand ceiling above.

Angelina and Aiden’s story started when they were young.
Childhood sweethearts who grew together as adults, married at The Granary Estates on a day filled with warmth and the bluest of skies.
Staying to reposition florals gives us small glimpses of the day.
For Angelina and Aiden, it was filled with the sounds of laughter and the clinking of champagne flutes.

The Maids in their Sage green dresses and posies of Hydrangea, looked beautiful. With the Gentleman of the Bridal party in black three piece suits and their buttonholes pinned on. All created a really cohesive look.
A beautiful day for a beautiful couple, so very much in love.

A beautifully warm Friday in late July at The Old Hall Ely, for the wedding of Amy and Matt.
A couple so clearly devoted to one another.
We first met Amy and Matt in a wonderful little coffee shop on a wintery day, and, over mugs of coffee chatted all things flowers.
The couple wanted a timeless, elegant look to their day, with flowers lining the aisle and delicate bud vases to dress the tables at the wedding breakfast.
Creamy Avalanche roses, beautifully fluffy hydrangeas with fragrant stocks, blousy delphiniums and delicate wax flower.
Floral Meadows to line the aisle, leading the eye to the couple saying “i do”

Staying to reposition the flowers meant we were able to watch the couple say their vows to each other.
Speaking to someone who knew the couple, we were told;

“She was always going to be his. From the first day he met Amy, Matty always said he was going to marry her.”

And under endless blue Fen skies, marry her he did. Surrounded by friends, family and so much love.
She was always going to be his and he was always going to be hers.
So begins the next chapter in their Love story.
