After much thought and consideration, I have decided to close the shop at Bens Yard on the 23rd December.

There will be some amazing discounts in store on all of our stock until we close our doors - everything must go!

I personally wish to thank my family, friends and team for every ounce of support you have given. Our loyal customers, many of you have become friends over the years, especially those of you here from the very beginning, and lastly a few cherished small business owners who understand the journey, and know the strength it has taken for me to make this one final decision. I have made this decision in order to prioritise my family and my own mental wellbeing.

2025 Weddings will continue from our old studio home, after a little period of rest & recuperation.

For now, I ask for respect and privacy for the team & I while we pack all of our hopes and dreams back into boxes and go home to our families.

It’s Black Friday today. The darkest of days for all small business owners. A day created as the US equivalent to the Boxing Day sales.
A day where the likes of Bezos, Tesco and pals take a small percentage off their over inflated profit margins to make you feel like you’re getting a good deal.

Small businesses simply cannot compete. We do not have the initial buying power to source millions of units from China for pennies to sell on at a huge mark up. For many of us every penny counts in the current climate.

“But every penny counts for us too!” I hear you cry! As a mother, wife, daughter, sister & friend I am also out there battling the Christmas shopping list and balancing the budget.
But I ask you to just buy ONE thing from your list locally with a small business that you perhaps hadn’t planned to.

This one small change DOES matter.

It puts pennies back into YOUR local economy, it pays the wages of your neighbour on the next street.

It helps another business survive.

Every business owner I have spoken to recently is sharing the same thoughts and feelings, there’s less sales coming through the door, less wedding bookings for next year etc times are tough for everyone. And we know it’s because it’s tough for our customers too.

It’s not about spending more or even cutting back, it’s WHERE you spend it.

So please this Black Friday, think. ♥️

Being a business owner is a rollercoaster, long days, fast decisions, deep thoughts, celebrations, set backs and challenges all come at every twist and turn.
The last 18 months of Thatch & Roses have been some of the best and worst of my floristry career for many reasons, but there really is nothing better than surrounding myself with likeminded and inspirational people to re-focus on why Thatch & Roses was born in the first place.

And of course there was some time to play with big flowers & and experiment with new mechanics under the excellent guidance of the team.
