If your event space doesn’t have a focal point, such as a mantelpiece, you can always create one.

Candlelight will always create a warm and inviting atmosphere for your guests. Create layers of light, with both height and depth, then add in elements, such as pictures or souvenirs from your travels, to give it your personal touch.

My amazing clients wanted to transform the Drawing Room at Kew’s Cambridge Cottage in to a cosy, candlelit space with comfortable lounge areas and a variety of bars for their guests. How could I resist an invitation like that….I just had to say Yes!

I only had just over three weeks to pull it all together. As d whilst I wasn’t there to see it, the bride told me she cried tears of joy when she saw it… I hope that means I nailed the brief!! 😊

This last weekend was the first outing for our new 3m bell tent, and it was set up as a perfect little play space for the kids. It doesn’t have a central pole so has plenty of headroom and usable space.

On this occasion it was set up with bunting, solar lights, soft rugs and a variety of toys, and by all accounts was a tremendous hit.

If you’re opting for a DIY bar at your event, galvanised tubs with ice are an easy way to hold all your chilled drinks. We have a variety of sizes but the our full sized galvanised bath is our largest and most impressive option, especially when filled! Style it with our hand painted ‘Booze Bath’ sign for a rustic touch.

Well, after four weeks of lugging, building, painting, glazing, hammering, screwing and generally DIYing every minute when we’re not working, the studio is watertight 🎉

…and to celebrate, we are going to have a little holiday. See you all on the other side 😘

I just received some beautiful pictures from one of my amazing couple’s garden marquee reception. How gorgeous is this?!!!

Don’t get me wrong, a DIY wedding is definitely more work for you, and almost certainly your family as well, BUT the extra memories made, not just on your day but in its creation, are priceless 🥰

Can’t believe it’s Friday already!!!! Sorry for being quiet on the grid; I’m super busy behind the scenes, prepping for weddings, getting ready for Glastonbury next week and organising my studio which arrives in two weeks time.

Can’t wait to get it up, and kitted out, so my collection can finally find it’s proper home! Making decisions on colours is my next headache.. but I might get your intake on that one next week with some options to choose from. I have it down to maybe four options but I really can’t decide. ‘Kid in a sweet shop’ comes to mind 🤣

Details...it's always the little details, don't you think?

In this case, little boho accessories just lift what is already a beautifully hand etched brass tray table. The dried stems add another delicate layer. They aren't big and they're not expensive but the little details help to bring everything together. What details are you planning on using for your event?

The last month has been full of challenges but it has allowed me to devote some quality time to expanding our range of vintage furniture.

This gorgeous vintage champagne gold sofa and armchair is one of my lucky finds. I love the colour as , just like my vintage green Edwardian set used in my styled shoot last month, it's just so versatile!

Comfortable, easy to move around and more cost effective than some of the larger chairs, they allow to you increase guest seating at your event without breaking the bank!

If you plan on having a firepit at your event, why not offer a late-night sweet treat with toasted marshmallows, or go the whole hog, and create a s'mores table.

Top tip: The easiest 's'more' is to combine marshmallows with chocolate digestives!
