⭐️⭐️⭐️THANK YOU EVERYONE⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have been able to create the most stunning tree and decorated it with just paper stars. A real community effort.
Those who made the stars, got the special paper, strung them, decorated the tree - thank you so much! X

Not only have we decorated a tree, but we’ve had enough stars to decorate the church … I shall post updated photos once everything is complete.

Pop into St James’s church to see the wonder of the German Froebel stars for yourself.

The star on the top has been loaned to the church by Reverend Thorniley and his wife Gill . Christine Speilman ( from Germany) made it for them years ago … and now it adorns this years church tree.

St James’s Church has its quinquennial this year (5 year inspection of the building). It feels like there’s no better time than now to discuss the future of the church, within the community.

We are holding a consultation and workshop next Wednesday (20th November).

A few questions to think about and mull over before then …

* What are your favourite things about our church?
*What would you like to change?
*How can we preserve our ancient building as a useful community space for the century ahead?

Wow wow wow

What a weekend!

As one walked through the serenity of St James's Church looking at the beautiful displays inspired by the Four Seasons, the buzz of the Summer Fete outside could be heard.
The Flower Trail was enjoyed by children young and old, looking for those hidden items in the different areas,
The weather was kind, the cakes were delicious. The Pimm's was a must, the games went down a treat for everyone. Lots of laughs ( especially on the Human Fruit Machine).

So many talented musicians took to the stage to give us a continual musical treat . With so many thanks to St. Egwin's C of E Middle School, Harvington Haulaways, Harvington First School and St James' Harvington Handbell Ringers

Church Street was bustling thanks to the huge tractor that CLAAS Western bought along, as well as the fabulous BBQ from the The Coach and Horses Harvington pub.

Evesham SNTs bought their car along too and enjoyed the fete as well!!

Lots of lovely vintage vehicles on show in the street and the pub car park.

But non of this could have been possible without the help and support of Harvington Parish Council, & GTM - Go Traffic Management for the road closure.
To Hayloft & Gardeners Kitchen Direct for their very generous donation of plants .
To Peach Branding for their amazing donation of our lanyards for the volunteers and members of the church to wear.

Day 2 of our Weekend saw not just one but two fantastic performances from Charlie Wild on her Violin & Viola D'Amor.

The weekend was rounded off by a wonderful Songs of Praise service , combining favourite seasonal hymns and readings, continuing the theme of the Four Seasons. Which was enjoyed by many along with delicious strawberries and cream donated by Hillers Farm Shop.

And last but by no means least, thank you to everyone who volunteered, planned, helped, set up, packed away, baked cakes, asked friends and family for favours and for all of you who came along to the Village Summer Fete and bought tokens and had a jolly good time!!!

What a wonderful atmosphere at church…. Lots of activity.

The beautiful, creative displays for the Flower Festival are nearly in place , lots of things to spot on the trail!

The kitchen was busy being prepared to serve Tea and cakes

Along with other preparations to make the weekend a great one !

Remember too that the weeekend doesn’t stop after the summer fete … the Flower festival continues on Sunday , with not 1 but 2 performances from Charlie Wild! At 11.30 & 2pm .

Then the Songs of Praise service at 5.30pm with strawberries and cream ( kindly donated by Hillers Farm Shop).

Let’s make it a weekend to remember!
