We would love to welcome you to our next occasion at St James’s Church.

The World Day of Prayer service .
Together we can be part of a wonderful chain of prayer that encircles the globe.

The service itself is written and prepared, this year by the Christian women of the Cook Islands .

Their theme based on the words of Psalm 139 is I Made you Wonderful….

Really encompassing that thought, that everyone is made for a reason, with their own specific identity, own unique qualities and it includes everyone!

The service brings together people from St James’s Harvington, the Baptist chapel, and members of the congregation from our Benefice too ( Church Lench, Rous Lench and Abbots Morton ) .

The Cook Islands are known for their colourful tropical flowers and we hope that displays made by various people including members of the Stitch and Chat group will really encapsulate the theme.

The service will take place at 2pm on Friday 7th March at St James’s Church.
ALL welcome
Refreshments served before and after the service .

⭐️⭐️⭐️THANK YOU EVERYONE⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have been able to create the most stunning tree and decorated it with just paper stars. A real community effort.
Those who made the stars, got the special paper, strung them, decorated the tree - thank you so much! X

Not only have we decorated a tree, but we’ve had enough stars to decorate the church … I shall post updated photos once everything is complete.

Pop into St James’s church to see the wonder of the German Froebel stars for yourself.

The star on the top has been loaned to the church by Reverend Thorniley and his wife Gill . Christine Speilman ( from Germany) made it for them years ago … and now it adorns this years church tree.

St James’s Church has its quinquennial this year (5 year inspection of the building). It feels like there’s no better time than now to discuss the future of the church, within the community.

We are holding a consultation and workshop next Wednesday (20th November).

A few questions to think about and mull over before then …

* What are your favourite things about our church?
*What would you like to change?
*How can we preserve our ancient building as a useful community space for the century ahead?
