One of the new designs I’m working on at the moment. A slim, column underdress in creamy silk satin. The top layer with a voluminous train will be in dusty pink Chantilly lace. I’m experimenting with intricate beading, spreading like tiny jewels from one shoulder over the top of the bodice.

I keep thinking about this little polka dot veil worn by Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face. I love the way it’s gathered up at the nape of the neck with a little satin bow. Perfect for a spring wedding. I think I might include something similar in the new spring collection .hepburn

One of my favourite type of commission is when someone brings in an
“Heirloom dress”… a wedding dress that has been in their family for generations.
Perhaps stored away somewhere, forgotten.
When Clemmie first showed me this beautiful Edwardian dress I couldn’t wait to give restore it to its former glory and then tweak it to make it into a beautiful, contemporary wedding dress to be worn again. I’ll post some more photos over the next few days to show you the process in a bit more detail.
I love the feeling of giving it a new life, another wedding day. Wedding dresses are not just dresses, they have huge emotional connections and it’s really lovely to keep them in the family.
Whether it’s careful cleaning, restoring, re-fitting and updating or just using the fabric to make a completely new dress.
If you have a family wedding dress that you would like to wear, in some way to your wedding just get in touch. I’d love to talk to you about it.

A simple slim silhouette for this bespoke, wedding dress. The silk crepe drapes beautifully and we used antique lace to edge the sleeves and antique silk for the ribbon. Stylish, elegant…and unique.

I hand painted this organza to create just the right colours for the silk ruffles on this bespoke dress. It was inspired by autumn hydrangeas. The little flowers on the shoulder were made by .textile.milliner
There petals, hand sewn all down the bodice before settling in the ruffles around the hem

I looked up on my way to the studio yesterday and noticed this shop front.
I was born in Exeter and lived here on and off for about 25 years…. but I’ve never really noticed it before.
Such a beautiful building.

Swarovski crystals and lace were meticulously hand sewn in a kind of collage onto the diaphanous bodice of Lauren’ bespoke dress. The skirt was made from layers and layers of silk georgette and organza in subtle shades of soft pink.
A dreamy dress which was as light as a feather…. I loved making this.
Do get in touch if you would like to chat about having a beautiful hand made, bespoke dress for your wedding….or share if you know someone who might 😊

I loved working with (the creator of ) on her wedding outfit.
It was a simple, sharply cut, silk dress and jacket. Which looked stunning as it was. But the laser cut peony feature revealing a flame red shot silk taffeta, lifted it to another level.
I’m thinking of using this technique in the new designs I’m working on

I was a having a very long overdue sort through box files and found this torn out from I think Cosmo Bride . It’s of “Petal” from the Couture Collection. One of my very first designs. It took absolutely ages to make. Hand dyeing, cutting, fraying and thousands of silk semi-circles. These were then arranged in strips of decreasing size then sewn in stripes onto the base layer of the dress.
It’s still in the studio, though not in quite such a pristine state. But I could make it again for you if you’d like.
