What a wonderful Wonderland tree!
Created back in April by the very talented using our Wonderland Arrows signs. These signs are smaller than a lot of our Giant Wonderland props so they can be used in different scenarios. Why not add one to your hallway for a whimsical entrance sign, or fix to a nursery wall. Even better; use all 9 phrases and fix them onto a pole and make the best Wonderland signpost for your event.

EDIT: Most of the free stuff has now gone but we still have a warehouse of items reduced to clear.
We won't be open at the weekend, but will open again from Monday at 10:00 until 16:00 for buying.

Everything in this post is FREE! Available from 8am this Friday until 6pm. We will also be selling off other props at 50% off the clearance price but I will put these props in a separate post in the next few days to save confusion.
EDIT: Early entry. We will be allowing people in from 07:15 to view and buy the discounted props for sale, we are happy for you to take a free prop for every prop you buy from 07:15 to 08:00. Then you don't need to buy props to take from the free pile from 08:00 onwards. We hope this will manage the flow of people and prioritise buyers first.
- There is limited parking so I have started the sale at 8am to allow roadside parking as it won't be busy at that time in the morning
- Take as much as you can carry then once you have taken items to your vehicle you can come back to get more, please don't make a pile of props and leave to fetch your vehicle. This only applies for the free items taken after 08:00.
- Location is The Prop Factory, EX2 8NY. We are next door to Europcar, if you drive into the car park we are the double red roller doors in the middle

There is a lot available for free that we have yet to put out, and underneath what you can see already.
We might open on Saturday too, but this depends what is left. Everything needs to go as we are due to start building the next part of our venue so need all the space back!

Imagine opening a wardrobe door to find a snowy forest, a real life Narnia…

Last July, Carmen had the idea to build Narnia and other backdrops to create a Christmas Selfieland in Exeter.

Her events hire business had really struggled through the pandemic as events were cancelled, so Selfieland was her plan to revive her business.

She put a post out on social media asking if anyone could help bring her dream to life, and around 40 people offered to help.

One of them was Hayley, a nurse from Exeter and owner of Chic Wedding Boutique.

“I loved having the opportunity to get involved in creating this magical world, and then bringing my family to see it and showing them the things I’d worked on.”

It took 14 weeks to complete this winter wonderland, and it paid off as visitors flocked from all over the country to visit in December.

That boost in income has taken the pressure off the business and allowed Carmen and her team to move forward with their long term plans.

Hmmm I think the Wonka experience in Glasgow has reignited some of our Selfieland reels. I was so confused why this video advertising tickets to our Christmas event suddenly got 46,000 new views but only 67 new likes, plus people stopped watching after 6 seconds but then I realised..... The first 6 seconds is our Wonka themed area and those information hungry doom scrollers might have thought they were watching a video about it until after 6 seconds when other themes started playing!

Morning everyone! Apologies for the radio silence, we've been very busy getting our new ecommerce website ready. We've also been completely overhauling our props and signs we sell by...

- Resizing products so most are now, or will be within the next few weeks will be a standard size with the option to order them bigger. This means most of our prop and sign prices are now less as we don't use as much packaging, time, wood and ink

- Re-doing artwork we created a 2+ years ago, as now have more design tools at our disposal to improve them. The Sweets sign and Wonderland sign in this post are examples of artwork that has been upgraded

- Finishing designs that have been in the making for months and even years - the Egg and Spoon race sign was started in 2020!

- Finally going through our list of popular requests for new products, it's a lot!

- Discontinuing over 150 products that we're very popular, so there is less irrelevant products to scroll through!

- Re-creating some of our hand painted hire sign designs. The Freak Show sign is a great example here, if you read the listing description is has a wonderful story

- Full time designing lots of new signs in our most popular themes. This is approximately one new sign or prop a day, which might not sound a lot but it will soon feel like a lot
Sooo all this means we have a very large amount of discontinued products that have new artwork, are the wrong size or we no longer sell that design that we need to get rid of - see the last image. Next week we'll be selling 75% off lucky dip bundles where you give us a 'brief' and a price and we'll select products and post them to you. More information to follow...

**Progress** on our new family play attraction!
We are hoping to open the first part of Play Emporium in 12 weeks
We'll be opening a 1000 sq ft vintage inspired sidestall play area. Also a forest reading room (what was Narnia in SelfieLand)
Games include
- A mini skittle alley
- Duck slingshot range
- Circus stage and fancy dress box
- Tin can alley
- Punch and judy puppet booth
- Penny roll
- Marble maze
- Shadow puppet booth
- Crazy mirrors
- Mini golf

- Buzz wire
- Ball drop
- Wind up racing
- Spinning wheel ...and a few other bits!
There will be a small refreshments in the funfair area until our enchanted midnight cafe opens downstairs to visitors and the public. We will be running two 2 hour sessions a day, 7 days a week 09:30 - 11:30 and 13:00 - 15:00.
Then we will be making more themed areas, and increasing session capacity as each area opens
Next we'll be building a beautiful rustic log cabin with chandelier lighting. Open during the daytime as a pedal car play area for kids and private hire in the evening.
We'll be giving the space for free for people to run classes between 11:45 and 12:45 until September.
After the funfair, cafe, and barn are open we'll be added 3 more themed family play areas. We haven't fully decided what they will be as we'll be listening to feedback from customers. But most likely one of them will be a free play arcade. We were originally going to build an arcade first but I was beginning to feel a bit uncomfortable with the cost to parents to keep kids busy, so we will be buying one machine at a time and putting on free play.
The cafe will be as little ultra processed food as possible, locally sourced and sweet treats out of view of children.
We'll be running events too like craft workshops, discos and even an ADHD support group!
We'll have a Christmas grotto too and are hoping to get our premises license by December to serve alcohol for private hire bookings.

TOMORROW** Prop warehouse closing down clearance sale, EX2 8NY
This is nearly everything we have for sale. I haven't added a large amount of our 2D reject props yet. Comment on photos (not dm) to ask for prices. My job today is to finish pricing everything so I might not be able to reply until this evening. The items for sale are a real mix of things from craft supplies, paint, selfiland displays, ex hire props, reject 2D props and more. The whole two floors of the warehouse are full of items ready to buy.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Parking - our carpark will be closed all day Saturday and Sunday. It will open again from Monday 5th as the sale is on everyday of February too including weekends from 10-5. Our advice would be to park at the Haven Banks car park and walk the 10 minutes to the warehouse - it will save your sanity driving around Marsh Barton looking for a space. I will make a map of how to walk to us. You can chance roadside parking, but at your own peril. You won't need to carry items back to your vehicles as our carpark will be open for loading and we will be at the gates letting people in to load. You can leave your props with us while you get your van/car.
Arriving early - there will be seating outside for early arrivals and the main gates will be open - free tea and coffee when you are in the que too, especially for those of you who have driven a long way. Strictly no entry until 10am.
Buying items - Please look at all these photos for the location of the item/s that are your priority, the locations will not change now these photos have been added. Get your priority items first. It is advisable to come in at least a pair if arriving on Saturday morning so if you are buying a set of items ie. something like a game with multiple parts, then as one person moves items into the holding area, the other person can wait by the remaining pieces. There will be a holding area you can pile items up in, that will be manned by staff to make sure others don't try to buy the items you have moved accidentally. Then you can purchase when you are ready in one go. There will be staff to help direct you and move items too.
Payment - payments under £100 are cash only. Over £100 we can take card payment.
We cannot reserve items unless they are our large ex-hire stock viewable with prices on this link www.propfactory.co.uk/listing and paid for in advance but most items are first come first served at the sale tomorrow
Collecting items - you may leave purchased items in our warehouse for a maximum of a week if you do not have a vehicle big enough to take items away on the day.

Smaller props, rejected props, craft supplies (very heavily discounted props!) ect as shown in the photos upstairs can be bought from 10am onwards this Saturday February 3rd. Then we are open 10 till 5 every single day of February including weekends to sell items. We are still pricing items upstairs so will be able to comment about exact prices on Thursday/Friday this week. Strictly NO viewings or purchasing prior to this Saturday.

Luck dip 10x decorations with postage £25. We are selling off the decorations we have left in our shop to our online customers due to the amount of requests to buy online. I feel happy to be able to say yes! As I really did feel awful before saying we couldn't post to our lovely existing customers. So this is my solution, and hopefully by next Christmas I'll have figured out a way to permanently sell them online. There are over 100 designs still in stock. The 10 decorations will be completely random, no duplicates even if you order 2 or 3 bundles. Very limited quantity of bundles as once we've sold what we have we'll be closing the Christmas decoration shop and opening Easter, Summer and Halloween shops throughout the year.

Open every day until Friday from 10am until 6pm. Then Saturday the 6th is our LAST day ever, as SelfieLand will NOT be back this year but instead we have a brand new concept.
Standard entry fee customers will also be able to use the 2024 light up letters upstairs.
Remaining decorations in the shop are now reduced.
It only took an hour and a half to tidy up after the NYE party and everything is still intact and all booths are still looking fabulous!

The Scrapstore was established over 30 years ago, for the last 13 of which it has been an independent company, limited by guarantee. It is overseen by a board of Trustees. The basic business model is a membership scheme, giving members the right to purchase materials at discounted prices. It is part of a nation-wide network of scrapstores, some independent some in local authorities. . The Scrapstore offers families, schools, playgroups, artists and indeed everyone, a wide range of materials for craft, art, play, education and theatre, all sourced from recycling, scrap and re-use. The Scrapstore is a stable business, not reliant on grants, although they are always welcome! We have good connections across the city with firms who have surplus material of every kind. . Happy New Year! Thank you everyone so much for what ended up being the best year ever!! It's been amazing to meet SO many real people and not just exist online. Thank you for making our first ever pop-up experience successful. Over 6000 of you came! Having worked on other people's events for the last 12 years and never having the urge to run my own....turns out I've absolutely loved it! Plenty more to come this year!
