'Do, do, do come on and do the conga. . . . .'
It's Throwback Thursday and here's an action shot taken at last year's Bideford Bike Show where Rob Pudner provided some Entertainingly Different antics and acted as the Master of Ceremonies on the Children's Field in his inimitable style.
He is now preparing to do it all again and this Sunday from 12.00pm after providing a spot of walkabout entertainment on the Quay he will make announcements from the Soundwave Radio stage; once again taking Victoria Park, Bideford by storm along with Merlin Cardigan Higher Beings Circus and Jumping Jack's Comedy Stunt Show and a number of local bands.
There will also be a number of trade stalls, catering stands, sideshows, a chance to meet 'Lightning McQueen' and ride on Exmouth Miniature Railway .

WEATHER UPDATE MONDAY 19th 3PM:

Following the strong winds today, the Christmas at the Castle light walk has been fully risk assessed and we can confirm that the site is safe to re-open this evening.

Some areas will be closed off this evening*, due to damage from today’s weather or due to our ongoing risk assessments, other areas may not be lit or operating fully.

Due to this, we’d like to offer all visitors tonight a free return (whether you come this evening, or decide to wait) so you have the opportunity to see the whole event. Your free return tickets will be automatically emailed to you, and you will then be able to re-book online to a date that suits you.

Wrap up warm! (And don’t forget your coats and wellies!)

⚠️WEATHER UPDATE: MONDAY 19th DECEMBER⚠️

With the increased severity of the Met Office Weather warning for tomorrow (Monday 19th December) Christmas at the Castle will be closed for day visits (11am – 4pm), to ensure the safety of our visitors, traders and staff. This will be a site-wide closure, including the Castle and Grotto.

To reschedule your tickets please email our team on [email protected] with your booking reference number, name on booking and date you would like to move your booking to.

We will update all evening ticket holders by 3pm tomorrow, once we can confirm the safety of the event site. We will be monitoring the wind speeds on site as well as met office updates throughout the day.

Due to the weather warnings issued for high winds for today (Sunday 18th December) the grounds will be closed for day visits (11am – 4pm), to ensure the safety of our visitors, traders and staff. The Castle and Grotto will remain open as planned.

Everyone with tickets for this date will be automatically issued complimentary tickets to return on a date of your choice.

We will continually review the wind speeds and safety of the light walk throughout the day, and will update as and when it is necessary.
