And that's a wrap!. Our doors are now closed for The Oak Bar & Grill.
Thank you so much to everyone who showed support by joining us this weekend. Your lovely comments, well wishes and sadness you have shown of us closing means a lot to us both.
We've closed with our heads held high knowing we did the best we could in such a short time. Let's see what tomorrow brings, as they say...as one door closes, another one opens.

We are open on Sunday 10th November for one last time to serve our lovely Sunday Roast. We will be open from 11.30am to welcome veterans after visiting the cenotaph for Rememberance Sunday, and food served from 12. Booking is essential for Sunday dinner so please DM to book.

📌Important announcement📌

It is with great sadness to inform all our lovely customers, friends & family that, unfortunately, as of Monday 11th November, we will be closed for business.

This has all been very sudden and not by choice. Last weekend, the brewery informed us that we had to sign a long, extended lease, which would tie us into the brewery for all the drinks, beers, spirits, and even soft drinks. This would inevitably be a death warrant for the business, and we would not be able to sustain the ever increasing costs of stock, rent, utilities, and wages. So, because we declined their offer (or ransom), they have given us one weeks notice to leave the premises!

To say we are gutted, shocked, and upset is an understatement.
We have put so much into the The Oak and tried to make it work, but this news has devasted us.
After seeking advice from two solicitors and also our accountant, we have no choice but to close as of Monday. We will however, after much deliberation, be opening for one last weekend with Mike Tracey on Saturday and to honour our veterans and our loyal customers we will be open on Sunday to serve our amazing Sunday dinners one last time.

We've had to cancel events, parties, private functions, and restaurant bookings, and we can't apologise enough for this, and to have to inform our wonderful loyal staff was just heartbreaking.

Thank you to everyone for the past 12 months who have helped along the way. We truly appreciated it.
Your love and understanding now will get us through this weekend, and we hope you can join us.
We are taking bookings only for Sunday and you can DM to reserve a table.

Just a reminder that our kitchen is closed today but is back open tomorrow serving your Sunday roast and specials of the day. We highly recommend that you book in on a Sunday to avoid waiting for a table.
