Yesterday our talented team completed the installation of this bespoke archway for Market Street Hotel 🎄
The design was inspired by the hotel's brief to include the 'Six Symbols of Scotland' (Golden Eagle, Haggis, Scots Pine, Thistle, Scotch Whisky, Unicorn) which pay homage to Edinburgh's unique historic context within Scotland.
To bring this vision to life, a grand arch with live pine foliage branches was constructed in our greenhouse and was finished on-site with lighting and decorations which seamlessly weave together the Six Symbols of Scotland.

You may remember us sharing details of a pioneering research project we were participating in with PLP Architecture, PLP Labs, Joyce Chan, Schoof and Derek Clements-Croome amongst others.
‘Reap What You Sow: Valuing Workplaces that Grow Good Ideas’ is a new publication by PLP Labs and its academic and industry partners which explains the process of measuring and monetising the well-being and environmental value of biophilic design in offices.
We are delighted with the findings of this study which includes an incredible 200% increase in well-being and environmental value compared to a normal workspace! We hope these results will be of great value in influencing the future of our offices and will encourage key decision makers to start thinking about biophilic design from the very start of their projects.
