That’s a wrap!

When one door closes a window opens and that’s how it feels today. I have loved every moment of owning my own bridal boutique (it still gives me a thrill just saying that) even the most stressful parts were still better than the best day in an office.

It has been my absolute honour and privilege to serve my brides, hearing about your wedding plans, meeting your mums and bridal parties and bringing my own brand of big sister/golden retriever energy to each appointment. It’s something that I have never taken for granted and loved every moment of. I will hold those memories as dear as you will.

I’ve put a snippet of some of our recent brides who said yes to the dress & our 2024 brides, getting your photos is my second favourite part of the job so please do send these through in 2025!

We’re not closing because I don’t love it or because I’m not great at what I do (humble brag but the google review back me up 😉) but to focus on Hampshire Wedding Network wedding fayres - held at beautiful but affordable venues. We got some big plans for HWN that need our full attention so give us a follow to see our plans!

I love helping people and I’m so looking forward to helping even more couples find lovely venues & help wedding suppliers build up their businesses along with new wedding venues get the recognition they deserve!

So thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has helped me along the way or messaged today with kind words. I don’t regret setting up Margaux Mae one little bit, it was always my dream job and it’s led me to setting up HWN.

Sometimes the right path will present itself and you have to be brave, trust your instincts and take it.

Closing down sale 💝

Absolutely blown away with the response we’ve had to our closing down sale, it’s been so lovely helping so many brides find their dresses.

We have had so many enquiries so if you’re wanting to find your dress before we close on the 20𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 please do get in touch asap to book an appointment.

We’ve now passed the point where we’re able to order in any new dresses from Richard Designs so the samples we have will now be included in our sale. Thank you to Richard Designs for their support and kind words during closing down.

Some big news here at Margaux Mae Bridal…

After a lot of soul searching over the last few months we’ve made the decision to close Margaux Mae Bridal & our last day of trading will be the 20th December.

Going into 2025 I will be focusing on Hampshire Wedding Network wedding fayres Hampshire Wedding Network - Alternative Fayre. The side hustle that I set up to help support the business has been so successful at a rate I could have only dreamt of when I starting out, so it makes sense to devout all my energies into this. I love helping couples find beautiful hidden gem venues and venues they didn’t realise are affordable, or alternative couples being so excited that there’s finally a wedding fayre for them down south!

I’ve said from the beginning it’s always a privilege to be a part of that moment when a bride finds her dream dress and I have loved every second of having my own boutique and it really has been a dream come true.

All brides have been notified via email today, and I’m so grateful for all the lovely replies I’ve had. Your kind words mean the world to me.

If you are a bride whose preloved dress I have, please get in touch to collect it if you would like it back. Otherwise I will keep it on the rails for our closing down sale.

So going forward we will be having a MASSIVE closing down sale to help clear the stock, all sample dresses will be 50% off approx but along with the preloved gowns, ONCE THEY’RE GONE, THEY’RE GONE! So book your appointment in quickly to avoid disappointment.

Thrilled to announce that to celebrate Legend Bridal Designs Ltd exhibiting at the Hampshire Wedding Network Alternative Fayre on the 10th November we will be hosting a 2 day pop up shop on Friday 8th & Saturday 9th November 2024!

Legend Bridal’s creative director Charlotte said “At Legend Bridal, we understand that your wedding day is an expression of your true self. That’s why we embrace the unconventional, the edgy, and the alternative. Our mission is to empower you to celebrate your individuality.“

I said yes to the dress 👰🏼‍♀️🥂

Nicole has become a Margaux Mae bride this week and what an absolute delight she was to help find her dream dress! She also had the nicest bridal party who totally bought the right vibes with them!

Over two appointments we were down to one dress but on the second appointment we tried on a dress I’d forgotten to suggest (I’m blaming the heat!) which encapsulated everything Nicole wanted… and blimey she knocked everyone’s socks off!

I always say dresses are like partners, when you know you know (that’s why we don’t do hard sales tactics here as it’s either your dress or it’s not) and there was no going back after Nicole stepped into this gown.

I heard through the grapevine that one of my competitors said this about me so I thought I’d answer 😜

💪🏻 Strong - coincidentally my surname, but more importantly what I’ve learnt I am after Covid, divorce, redundancy & enduring the worst economic landscape to set up a small business in. Sometimes being strong is the only option I’ve had to be.

🌶️ Neuro-Spicy - Or riddled with ✨ADHD✨which sometimes is my downfall as equally as it has been the fire in my engine to get things done. Yes I have a pinball machine approach to organising but I can also remember everything wedding related… EVER! Weddings have been my hyper focus since I can remember which is why working in this industry is a dream come true.

🥰 Inclusive - Fun fact I was bullied abit at school and I know what it feels like to be left out. That is why at our wedding fayres everyone is made to welcome, with any cattiness or bitchyness not tolerated. I’ve had suppliers say at other fayres people/organisers don’t even come up to say hi to them 😱 Not at HWN which is why our fayres are becoming so successful.

🧑‍🧒 A mum - Just don’t call me a mumpreneur 🤮 it’s infantilising b*llocks, is there such a thing as a dadpreneur… exactly! I don’t suffer from “mum guilt” either as there’s no such thing as dad guilt. But since having my son my god has it lit a fire 🔥 in me to succeed & give him everything I never had.

🛠️ Working class - Which growing up I hated that my friends had the latest trainers 👟 whilst it’s fair to say we did not… along with a ton of other things. I always remember my mum saying I can’t afford to give you much but I can afford to give you manners! I know what it’s like to be on a budget (both growing up and later on as a single mum) so I’m able to get in the mindset of couples trying to plan weddings whilst we’re in a cost of living crisis.

I’m sure that all of the above combined is why my boutique won best bridal boutique in England in its first two years!

I’m obsessed with the British designers we have, both are amazing to deal and I love all their designs, give them a follow and you’ll see what I mean:

🩷 Their sizing is SPOT ON! Because they design for British women they know their stuff. What ever size you are on the high street, that’s what you’ll be when you try their gowns on. And anyone who has tried wedding dresses on knows this is a massive ✅ for shopping British.

🩷 The quality is second to none. They source all their fabrics knowing that’s our brides expect more and they deliver, in spades! The craftsmanship is of the highest quality and you can feel it as soon as you try it on.

🩷 They care 🥰. About their teams, the people in their factories, their suppliers and most importantly their brides. You can tell this from all the interactions I have with them whether it’s because I’ve needed something or posting on their socials or how they’ve spoiled me at events.

🩷 Delivery times 🚚 Because they’re based here delivery times are shorter… in fact Richard Designs can have your dress here by the end of the month if needed! With more intimate last minute weddings becoming more popular this is a such a relief to brides!

To say I was blown away when the lovely Lesley sent me through her wedding photos would be an understatement - What a stunning bride and wedding!

I remember Lesley’s first appointment when she fell madly in love with the beautiful Jennifer Wren gown by Romantica of Devon. But it was her first boutique appointment and you can’t buy a dress at the first shop you go to right?! So (understandably) she had a few more appointments at other boutiques but as lovely as their dresses were, she kept thinking back to that first dress!

It was so lovely to see her walk back through the door of the boutique and goes to prove my theory about dresses - when you know you know!
